Psychedelic Crystal Pier ~ Pacific Beach ~ California ~ USA ~
I figure, i probably won't see this pier as much..as I am contemplating a move in a different area of San Diego ~ I shot this Pier so many times.. I have colors, sepias, black and white versions of it etc..but no psychedelic image so far...so here i go ! Enjoy !
"The word 'psychedelic' is an English term coined from the Greek words for "soul," ψυχή (psyche), and "manifest," δήλος (delos). A psychedelic experience is characterized by the perception of aspects of one's mind previously unknown, or by the creative exuberance of the mind liberated from its ostensibly ordinary fetters."
-Wikipedia
Definitely one of my favorite pictures I have taken. Never thought a CD could make such a great picture..
“Flowers construct the most charming geometries: circles like the sun,
ovals, cones, curlicues and a variety of triangular eccentricities, which
when viewed with the eye of a magnifying glass seem a Lilliputian
frieze of psychedelic silhouettes.”
- Duane Michals, The Vanishing Act
Shot with Tokina 70-210mm f4-5.6 old manual lens. The spider was swaying pretty good on the web (breezy), the web stretching between branches of mangroves on the waterfront. Was amazed at the colors that popped out! The fun part of photography is seeing something in a photo that you missed with the human eye!
A fun experiment.
Probably could have sat there all afternoon blowing bubbles.
See comments for setup.

This ceramic tile is a gift that I gave to my Flickr friend Roshie.. She and I exchanged very belated X-mas gifts at a recent lunch along with Robin of San Francisco.
When I first saw this psychedelic 4" x 4" ceramic tile I immediately thought of Roshie's "psychedelic Clyde" Photoshopped photo.
The new name 2/17/08: "psychhedelic cat - a.k.a. RoshieKat"
Roshie Photoshopped this photo and posted it on her site. See below for her image.
