Loews Philadeplhia Hotel ..once a bank..."The PSFS building is the first skyscraper in the US built in the International style. This style, which had its roots in the influential Bauhaus school in Germany, called for a simplified and functional architecture without any decoration."
Skyy Vodka, Chambord, Peach Schnapps, Midori Melon Liquor, pineapple juice, and a float of Champagne
It wasn't as pretty as the other two but it sure was a nice cocktail.

The PSFS Building is my favorite building in Philadelphia and the 33rd floor has been a special place for me over the years.
The building has played spectator to the city’s history since 1932. Its rectangular, modern architecture constantly transforms my mind to a period when the city was at the end of its industrial supremacy. I think of a city that is organized by the wealthy business class in its center and surrounded by endless rows of houses and smokestacks that expand out to the horizon. I think of a city that was aware of its uncertain transformation towards the modern and away from its industrial past.
For me It is an easy refuge from the manic street level life. It allows me to focus, to get reacquainted with the city, and a place to marvel at the great history of this country. It makes me stop and appreciate the beauty in the urban sprawl.
What makes you stand in awe?

The PSFS Building (now a luxury hotel) was built in the 1930s, when most of the surrounding buildings were in the Victorian or Second Empire style.

In what looks like a scene from a really bad home movie, Teddy flies over Philadelphia's skyscrapers.
