Beneath the canopy of an old tree, light dances across the water—soft, shimmering, and sacred. The branches stretch wide, casting shadows that feel less like absence and more like shelter. The sky is clear, the air still, and the moment holds its breath. It’s a scene that echoes Psalm 91:1: “He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.” This is that place. A quiet refuge. A reminder that peace is not the absence of trouble, but the presence of God. The tree does not speak, but it covers. The water does not stir, but it reflects. And the light, though gentle, is holy.

Psalms 91:4-5 “He shall cover you with His feathers, and under His wings you shall take refuge . . . You shall NOT be afraid of the terror by night.”
It is a chilling reality that tragedies like this happen in the world, that some would see fit to instill terror into others.
Today many prayers are uttered for those in Paris, those in Lebanon, those in Syria, and for every person whose life is in the shadow of terror, sorrow, hated, and injustice. In such dark times as this, when light shines, it shines for all to see.
"I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world." John 16:33

I received this bookmark from my parents on Christmas 2001. My father is still alive, but my mother passed in late 2017, so the bookmark has special meaning to me.

this isn't really a secret of mine. but it's something that needs to be known about me. i don't just believe in Him, i love Him. He saved me from so much. my life wouldn't be the same without Him. like it says, "o Lord, what great miracles You do!"

Psalm 91
1 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
2 I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.
3 Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.
4 He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.
5 Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;
6 Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.
7 A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.
8 Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked.

My personal belief ,the AntiChrist hasn't been revealed as the falling away hasn't
happened yet or the global need for peace ,perhaps a world war yet to happen.The "falling away" translated to greek means "departure" by which pre-tribulation rapture believing christians do believe it is and not alone attrbuted to people leaving the Christian faith .
Anyway , many speculations abound who the antichrist is.This video is one example ,
perhaps it holds water but AC is yet to be revealed in the future. He may not be as we thought .
I am not looking forward to see the Antichrist - Not in my dreams to be around at that time
to see him reigning in control of the global system . What Bible scholars had seen is the one world
global system as spoken in Revelations and it would not be any coincidence the world condition today
is heading to .Many world leaders are advocating for one world monetary system ,even the Vatican
calling for it.

Many of us may think it would not touch us if the middleast burns ,but take note mega inflation will happen ,perhaps will trigger global economic collapse . Can you cycle 60 miles to work 5 x a week when price of oil shoot up sky high ?
You may have resources enough to feed your family but think of others who will not have enough and will starve during the crisis .Have reflection of what is going on in some countries in EU ,example is Greece ,it breaks my heart .When people don't have enough and living for survival - try to figure out great social upheaval / cause and effect , surely will create an increase in criminalities ,lootings ,robberies and all evils,"where love of many will grow cold " as spoken in the Bible . Apart from the imminent nuclear threat ,some countries so involve with middleast affair ,including the country where I live in ,probability we might burn as well .But fear not if you have Yeshua or Jesus .
Hey doom and gloom again , for those critical of my postings and who just want to hear every rosy side of things ,well you have the choice to bury your head in the sand -- but it's rather good to be aware of what is to come and waking up others and as many into awareness than having pleasure of seeing others still sleeping / being caught up by hell of surprise unprepared .If it will not happen soon then many will be relieved but if this things spoken happens sooner ,it's good to be ready at all times .The most significant point is spiritual preparedness above prepping to save our physical bodies. Submitting ones life to Jesus ( no religion involve ) ,having personal relationship with Jesus is our way to eternal salvation .It's asking Jesus to come into our hearts and true repentance of our sins, and we're save in Christ. Jesus died for humanity for everyone to be save,for those who accept Him , the only sacrificial lamb of God to die once and for all .

Perhaps this looks creepy to you! It does a little bit, I think, because I am showing the contrast between the darkness and the light. There's a lot crammed into this space, but in the spiritual realm, there's a lot going on we don't usually see. View On Black
Think of this place as the "foyer" to the Secret Place of the Most High, referred to in Psalm 91. What is that place? Read the Psalm and find out. It's about safety and protection for one thing. A good thing to think about on 9/11.
"He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust." Psalm 91:1-2
Also think of Jacob's dream of the ladder and angels going up and down on it. He said that it was the dwelling place of God. Here's a gate: the gateway from this realm into the heavenly realm. Jesus is the gate.
This is not about dying: most of my artwork is not about dying, it's about living in the Kingdom of God now. Not waiting for the "sweet by and by". Now is when we need protection from terrorism and pestilence, among other things, not in Heaven. Now is when we can live in the Secret Place.
The passageway is narrow here. It takes laying down one's selfish will and submitting to God. That's hard for us independent and intelligent human beings. We think we can do it ourselves. I want the Tree of Life. That is Truth and everlasting life. It's through those gates there. It looks firey in there, and it is, but it's Love, so it's really OK~ anything that gets burned up in there wasn't good for us anyway.

I took this while in Nairobi, Kenya, in a slum called Maruri. His name is Kevin. He is three years old, and healthy. But two years ago, when my team leader met him, he was dying.
His mother, Virginia, brewed beer in her shack's floor. This is looked down upon in the slums, but it provided barely enough money to survive. It also provided a release, and an addiction.
When Rhonda and Brenda (a missionary who lives in Nairobi) read Psalm 91 to Virginia, she was drunk. She cried, lifted her hand, and accepted Christ. This change allowed her to release Kevin for medical care, which saved his life.
Virginia now values her children's lives. She no longer brews beer in her floor. Her home is clean, her smile wide, and her joy true. She still lives in the slums. But she has hope.
If you say, “The LORD is my refuge,”
and you make the Most High your dwelling,
no harm will overtake you,
no disaster will come near your tent.
For he will command his angels concerning you
to guard you in all your ways;
they will lift you up in their hands,
so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.
You will tread on the lion and the cobra;

Out of our deepest cries of hope and longing

*Inspiration for this poem and artwork is an odd fusion between Psalm 91 and "Star Trek: The Voyage Home"... The idea of V'ger asking : is this all there is? and the idea of finding exhilaration and wonder beyond the logical mind in the shadow of what no words can describe...only aspire to reveal. In these newscasts of Japan, my heart aches for the many who have lost and still my heart believes beyond a shadow of a doubt that each of us is taken care of whether in this life or beyond. Such is the faith of the artist's heart within me.

The darker the night, the closer the dawn.
The darker the clouds, the more plentiful the life-giving rains.
The narrower the way, the more God’s unlimited help!
The greater the troubles, the more the comforts from God. Though the waves of the sea get higher, this can never disturb the calm of the depths!
Though the storm be violent, it cannot displace the mountain. Those who trust in the Lord are like mountains that cannot be shaken.
The person who lives in the shadow of the Almighty will never be disturbed by the heat.

I am not sure, but it was a pretty delicate little thing, that I was so pleased to have sit for quite some time and let me capture many shots of it. I was careful not to get too close, as these blackberry bushes were very spiky. May you find a wonderful blessing, and miss the dangers around you.
