Chose a theme for this day’s shoot and it was blue, so set off for Stampede Reservoir to maybe find some great blue sky shots, as the dam was crossed this view seemed to say, this is it, the theme shot of the day…. With the water so low and the contrast of the land and the blue of the sky and water I stopped and took some shots of the area showing the rocky foreground but none of those grasped the theme so took this one with nothing in the foreground but the water and liked it best. As a rule in landscape photography there should be something in the foreground but sometimes rules just do not work and need to be broken. Go for it.
Welcome to the future! Here you don't have to age, you don't have to hide. Here we can keep you in that unrealistic, yet desired, state for as long as Adobe keeps cranking out new versions of PS and as long as your only interactions with other human beings is done over the internet.
Don't get me wrong, I LOVE PS. I wish i knew more. It's a floodgate of possibilities for the creative mind. I just think there should be disclaimers on magazines that at least state the photos were altered. There's nothing wrong with trying to look your best but when advertisers sell sexy to people, especially impressionable kids growing up, they are placing unattainable goals and setting them up for disappointment and self loathing.
Guess I'm just looking for a little more truth in advertising. Here I purposefully over did the right side of my face trying to almost give it that Surrogates type feeling.
