I was honored that the talented Lauren tagged me for the "10 Things You Don't Know About Me" meme. Coming up with the list wasn’t near as hard as posting an sp. Of which almost none exist. Getting what I wanted was difficult and so this is the best I could do…. I sort of love it though (even if I look tired [was] and pissed off [wasn't!].

1. I’m primarily a research/field biologist. In the past decade I have spent close to 36 months actually living in the woods collecting data, and an additional 30 months on the road collecting data via helicopter. Right now I’m deskbound analyzing it all!
2. My husband is also a biologist and we have worked on the same projects doing the same research since 1998.
3. I’ve spent 12 years so far studying elk. Over the next 3 or 4 years, that focus will slowly be shifted to woodland caribou in Canada.
4. I was raised in West Virginia and honestly, it’s still one of my favorite places to be.
5. Of all the creative things I do, (knitting, gourds etc), the thing that I am most passionate about but do the least of is pencil drawing.
6. I yearn to travel more and could list dozens of places. But the ‘dream’ trip? Going to Rwanda to see the mountain gorillas and to visit the graves of Dian Fossey and Digit.
7. I grew up in a household that was probably 80% self-sufficient. We had cattle we raised for meat, grew and cut our own hay to feed the cattle, had a huge vegetable garden plus small orchard… as an adult, I tend to not follow a published plan or doctrine concerning food choices…I just ‘try’ to follow how I was raised.
8. I originally wanted to be a veterinarian and was actually accepted to Ohio State vet school. Turning it down was an unpopular decision in my family (understatement)…but it was the right one.
9. I have 3 piercings in my left ear, 1 in my right. Yet for more than a decade the only earring I’ve worn is a small diamond from my mom.
10. I have two tattoos and eventually I want to get one that I’ve designed/drawn myself.
