The Seal Wardens,volunteers from Friends of Horsey Seals, keep a watchful eye open. It was half term week, and also a very high tide, which limited the size of the beach. Unfortunately, people do take their dogs down and some of the children run riot and occasionally reminders need to be issued that these are wild animals and you must keep a respectful distance, and admire them from afar!

It was a very windy evening and handheld so keeping anything sharp was a near impossibility but I quite liked this one anyway

Sturgeon Bay Ship Canal Pierhead Lighthouse was build in 1903. Getting to this location took a couple of times. The first time I arrived, I was scouting its location. I was met with big signs stating "Authorized Personnel Only Property of the US Government" as there is a US Coast Guard at this location. After not seeing the lighthouse from the road and with high noon, I abandoned the thought. I went home and researched the area again. The second time, I braved going up to the entrance were there is a 3' path leading to the lighthouse. To the left of the path is a sign stating private property and to the right US property. As long as you stay on the path, no problems.
HMS Protector is a Royal Navy ice patrol ship built in Norway in mid 2000. As MV Polarbjørn (polar bear) she operated under charter as a polar research icebreaker and a subsea support vessel.
