Nebo je nad Beogradom prostrano i visoko, promenljivo a uvek lepo; i za zimskih vedrina sa njihovom studenom raskoši; i za letnjih oluja kada se celo pretvori u jedan jedini tmurni oblak koji, gonjen ludim vetrom, nosi kišu pomešanu s prašinom panonske ravnice; i u prolece kad izgleda da cvate i ono, uporedo sa zemljom; i u jesen kad oteža od jesenjih zvezda u rojevima. Uvek lepo i bogato, kao naknada ovoj cudnoj varoši za sve ono cega u njoj nema i uteha zbog svega što ne bi trebalo da bude. Ali najveci raskoš toga neba nad Beogradom, to su suncevi zalasci. U jesen i u leto oni su prostrani i jarki kao pustinjske vizije, a zimi prigušeni tmastim oblacima i rujnim maglama. A u svako doba godine vrlo su cesti dani kad se oganj toga sunca koje zalazi u ravnici, medu rekama pod Beogradom, odbije cak gore u visokoj kupoli neba, i tu se prelomi i prospe kao crven sjaj po razasutoj varoši. Tada suncano rumenilo oboji za trenutak i najzabacenije uglove Beograda i odblesne u prozorima i onih kuca koje inace slabo obasjava.

【明報記者黃維義報道】曾在香港紅透樂壇、被譽為東方貓王的陳 均能在5月初加入了日落公園長者社區中心(Lutheran Family Health Centers)並出任中心經理﹐專責3間耆老中心的管理及推動 工作。
目前他正籌備一個名為「奇思組合」(KC Chorus)的歌詠團，希望透過華人耆老唱出經典懷舊的英文老 歌，與外裔長者打成一片。同時，也帶領外裔長者慢慢學唱中文歌曲 。
該歌詠團現正招收成員﹐年齡55歲以上就可以參加﹐歌詠團訂於 6月24日(星期二)晚上6時﹐帶領有意參加的華人成員到區內一 間耆老中心出席中心成立的慶典晚會﹐有意參加者請於當晚5時30 分到達溫莎堡年長者社區中心集合出發﹐地址在西展望公園(Pro spect Park)245號。
陳均能說﹐該機構屬下的3間中心皆免費﹐歡迎華人長者參與﹐中 心提供包括健康教育、個案服務、房屋辦理、諮詢及轉介、旅行及歌 詠、瑜伽、麻雀、太極、健康舞、關節操、步行運動班、長者及青年 相處之道、手飾設計及製造、英文班及電腦班等﹐希望華人妥為善用 。各中心開放時間及地點如下：

Cornel Chan (陳均能) immigrated to the US in 1972 from Hong Kong, where he enjoyed a successful career as “The Elvis of the East” singing American songs on radio, TV and in clubs. With younger singers from abroad gaining popularity and his young sons’ education to consider, he decided to come to NYC, where his sister lived. Looking in the yellow pages, he found the talent agent who got him his first job in NYC and taught him “gimmicks” to entertain American audiences. Since 2008, Chan has a popular singing class at senior centers in Southern Brooklyn, where Chinese seniors, including many recent arrivals from Fujian, learn English by singing American songs. It is the only class of its kind, he says. The chorus performs at the Brooklyn Chinese American Association’s annual gala and community events. Music clips of Cornel Chan's performances with the BCA Chorus and recordings from his YouTube channel were mixed into the interview by Samira Tazari.
This program is part of the Cultural Immigrant Initiative supported, in part, by the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the City Council, and New York City Councilman Mark Treyger.

An while shooting to the closed shop, one realizes that there's something stuck on the façade. The building refurbishment exposed the former posters advertising the trendy (analogue) cameras of the 90s spring season. Congolese women take pride in their appearance. So, they are like women everywhere. They want to look good, too.
After seeing Oprah and Chris Rock discuss the movie, Good Hair. I started me to thinking about the hair of Congolese women. In rural poor Congo, hair styles are almost non-existent. These working women do not have the time and money. Also, elaborate hair styles are not practical. Scarfs are the typical head-ware for the poor women.
Natural Hair-dos, weaves, and wigs are a sign of prosperity.
