Cons:
- Haven't been paid in a really long time. This is like the opposite of direct deposit.
- Opened a camera up on Monday that still had film in the back. The camera didn't belong to me. The owner was standing right there staring at me. Gulp.
- Not much time lately to compose interesting shots. This photo-a-day thing doesn't seem to get easier with time.
- I am struggling with some real feelings of anxiety about this new work arrangement -- not because I don't think it will work, but because it's somehow more comfortable to contemplate a miserable, spectacular failure than it is to contemplate actual success and fulfillment. Why is that, I wonder?
Pros:
- Getting to look at lots of cool photos, and think about what makes them so good.
- Lots of flexibility in work arrangements and no need to wait around for smelly Marta trains.
- I am meeting a lot of people who are producing great work.
- Making plans to shadow a wedding next month with my new photographer boss. I think wedding photography would be a very different animal if I had a clue about how to do it.
- I'm actually doing work I care about. That helps a lot.
