Thought this was probably on the River Shannon somewhere, but excellent that we now have a proper location for this Lawrence Collection photo that previously had only the rather sad title of Unidentified on our catalogue.
Thanks to everyone who helped locate it, especially guliolopez who gave us this view from above and Street View!

If they can't winch you out, I don't think anyone can!!
A very interesting pair of 6x6 Fodens operated by All Recovery & Repair of Normandy, Surrey seen a few years ago at a show near Guildford.
Q746DPF on the left was the prototype Foden/Eka 'Compact' Army recovery vehicle and I believe UDE417T on the right was an ex Army chassis converted by Syren Engineering into a winching and breakdown vehicle.

I've been fond of this bank building ever since I helped with a grade 5 field trip and we temporarily broke the revolving door.
A proper long exposure for a change, not like those lazy handheld night shots I've been churning out lately.

Ninty plus here today. There's only one thing to do at home, and only one proper thing to wear.
A bikini and in a pool.
I was originally going to wear her bottoms. But something didn't get completely covered. Now....
Sandra is telling me she sees my tiny bump. I'll give her a tiny bump.. l told her she must be referring to that area sticking out that she calls breasts....
As you can tell. Feeling a lot better. Later🙈🙊🙉🎀💕🐤🐣😊🌹🌹🌹🌹💋💋💋💋💋♥️
It was 233 years ago today a bunch rabble rousing rebel scum (who'd been entrusted with the proper care and keeping of the colonies) signed off on a bit of paper certifying the adoption of a Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776, declaring independence from the Kingdom of Great Britain while simultaneously committing high treason against the crown!
These days, in the United States', Independence Day, commonly known as "the Fourth of July", is a federal holiday (If it IS so special why did it take until 1938 to become a federal holiday?)
"Independence Day" is commonly associated with fireworks, parades, barbecues, carnivals, picnics, concerts, baseball games, political speeches and ceremonies, and various other public and private events celebrating the history, government, and traditions of the so-called United States.
During the American Insurrection the illegal separation of the American colonies from Great Britain actually occurred on July 2, 1776, when the (unlawful) Second Continental Congress voted to approve a resolution of independence that had been proposed in June by Richard Henry Lee of Virginia. After voting for independence, Congress turned its attention to the Declaration of Independence, a statement explaining this decision, which had been prepared by a Committee of Five, with Thomas Jefferson as its principal author. Congress debated and revised the Declaration, finally approving it on July 4. Oh yes, two days is all time one needs to debate before sending the world reeling into chaos!
Most delegates actually signed the Declaration on August 2, 1776. In a remarkable series of coincidences, both John Adams and Thomas Jefferson, two founding fathers of the United States and the only two men who signed the Declaration of Independence to become president, died on the same day: July 4, 1826, which was the United States' 50th anniversary. Blah, blah, blah...
"Happy Independence Day" indeed! Has anyone ever stopped to think what that reckless course of action did to the Empire? Loss of tax revenue, loss of goods, services, resources, not mention the loss of a prime dumping ground for all the unwanted elements of society...
Britain once ruled the world and the American Insurrection started it on a path of decline from which it has never recovered!
I hope you're happy.

[07/10/2016] A nice proper Sunday today - spent the day doing some design work from home, working on my zine, doing research, planning and general errands like meal planning and grocery shopping. Afternoon workout at Barre3 and a delicious lazy dinner of grilled "cheese" with serranos and pesto and tomato soup.

As the Jalapeno Peppers are ripening peoples gardens, I thought it was important to demonstrate the necessary safety gear when working with hot peppers as a public safety announcement. I used to chop them sans protection and would always end up in pain after absentmindedly wiping rubbing my eye, or say going to the john. Trust me-no matter how well you wash, the oil will linger on you for a few days waiting to transfer itself to your tender bits.
Goggles were added to my pepper safety gear in 2013, disposable nitrile gloves in 2012, and a shirt in 2011 (don't ask).

Didn't have the proper daylight to get a good photo -- the green was brighter than it looks here. Really fun theme for a first birthday! The flags and animals were gumpaste.

802106 has carried the 'Lily's Kitchen Proper Food For Pets' vinyls since the 6th November and has been a big pull for photographers as (a) anything is better than the drab GWR green livery and (b) it might not be around for long. This was my first opportunity to point a camera at it though my preference would have been a static station shot in full sun. A moving shot with the sun in the wrong direction and reflected glare was not my preference but here it is at Teignmouth on the 10.15 Penzance - Paddington. The vinyl wrap advert is only at one end. If you have a dog or a cat and are thinking of trying Lily's Kitchen on your pooch or moggie then you may need a bank loan. Pedigree Chum and Jellymeat Whiskas it ain't.
Lets face it apart from early/late on light at this time of year is pretty naff.Rewind back to last November when we had light to die for on the Moor.

Here at id-iom Sundays are usually spent lounging about in the jewel room throwing precious stones at each other but yesterday we decided it was time to share some of our accumulated knowledge with the younger generation. It's tough being a vandal without some guidance.
After we had imparted all we know of the sacred art of paint chucking to George it was time for him to step up and create something for himself. What we're left with is his pretty glorious 'G' piece. Pretty spiffy if i say so myself.
Let's hope he continues. Plus, we're only really in it for the thank you notes...
Cheers
