Largo di Torre Argentina is a square in the ancient Campus Martius area of Rome. In it there are four Republican Roman temples, and the remains of Pompey's Theatre. The name of the square comes from the Torre Argentina, which takes its name from the city of Strasbourg, whose Latin name was Argentoratum. During the demolition of Torre Argentina in 1927 the head and arms of a marble statue were discovered. This prompted an archeological investigation, which brought to light the presence of this holy area. Julius Caesar was killed in the Curia of the Theatre of Pompey, and the spot he was assassinated in is allegedly in this square.

I am participating in Folded Word's writing month event, called "24/7," during August. Participants spend the first 24 days of the month writing short works, then spend the final week in revisions. The second part of this entry gives more details.

I'm not required to give a central theme to the entries, but I chose the theme "Divinations" and am using a pair of dice to generate prompts. My prompt for August 7 is to write divination-themed micro-fiction that uses water. You can read the piece here.
