A female Scarce Chaser dragonfly found on the banks of the River Severn in Gloucestershire. This is a female because the abdomen is a little broader than in a male and has the shorter appendages and central projection that most females have in dragonflies.

This night photograph was taken last year at a spot along the Esplanade during the annual light festival, i-Light 2023. Some of the illuminated landmarks, including the Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands (from left of photograph), ArtScience Museum with colourful i-Light projections, and high-rise structures in Central Business District could be seen. The Float @ Marina Bay was in the foreground.

It was a relatively calm evening with the water surface of Marina Bay providing colourful reflections to the landmarks.

It is probably projection to think that this adult eagle looks stressed out from its endless feeding, nurturing, and sentry-duty. This is from our friendly neighborhood eagles' nest in one our nearby Genesee County Parks.

Ces filets servent d'ordinaire à protéger les fruits contre la grêle. Mais l'arboriculteur ici a tendu verticalement ses toiles ajourées en les bloquant au sol avec des pierres pour que le vent n'en fasse pas de grands voiliers. Cette partie du champ est en effet située à proximité de la berge du lac, et je suppose (à vérifier) qu'il s'agit ici de préserver ses pommiers des dents avides des castors qui abattent même les plus gros peupliers, à quelques mètres, au bord de l'eau.
