By the end of the century, sub-alpine meadows could shrink up to 27 percent at Mount Rainier National Park and disappear entirely at North Cascades National Park. To understand the effects of climate change on pollinators and protect our sub-alpine meadows, the Cascades Butterfly Project will be monitoring three sites in North Cascades National Park, two in the Mount Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest, and four in Mount Rainier National Park.

Here is my home brew electronic keyer project going into its box. It uses a PIC12F675 micro-controller from Microchip. I wanted the challenge of writing the code in assembly language.
Mostly junk box parts, the case was an old intercom or something like that. The project worked out pretty well though someday I might go back and make some changes with the speed control. That is to say I was lazy and only used 8 bits of the 10 bit A/D. Also I recently noticed that there is probably an unused I/O line and I might add straight key functionality to it.

I had to make a magazine for my communications technology class last month, and i chose AP obv. So basically EJJ is the combinations of our names : Erin, Jessica, and Jennifer, our little "band". But yea :) I loook soo disgusting.
Yeah, I manipulated it a bit, but had this vision I had to follow. Still has to dry and tweek a bit, and sorry out of focus. Better shot to follow, but here it is.
Every 10 weeks or so I need to come up with a new project for my continuing quilt students. This is the one I'll present tomorrow in class. It came from the Marcus Bros. fabric website.
The beginning students in my class make sampler quilts entirely by hand. The continuing students have the option of making the projects by hand or machine. This one was pieced on the machine and appliqued by hand. I plan to hand quilt it.
Project Description:
This secondary school addition includes concrete foundations with structural steel framing and metal decking, built up roofing, masonry and stucco. This addition was completed while school was in progress, which involved extensive tie-ins to the existing facility complete with temporary heating and hoarding. Student safety and noise mitigation was a primary concern. Certain construction activities were scheduled around class times.
The Westpro Advantage:
Focused operations ensured the safety of the school populations. Efficient scheduling reduced impact on school day to day operations, while ensuring an on time and on budget project. There were no accidents with respect to Safety or School Operations.

I came across some photos of a project from last year. I was asked to put together the parts for a model of Poole Bus Station for someone to build. (Not really my sort of thing at all)
I duly designed, printed and dispatched it. To keep the costs reasonable I only actually built a trial of a small part of it - the area marked in red on the diagram.
The whole model comes out at over four feet long (!!!), and takes an amazing amount of card, but if anyone fancies a crazy challenge then let me know.

So...talking to my girlfriend, I mentioned that I wanted to do a theme week for my 365 project. She suggested not telling anyone what the theme is, and that I should let people guess what the theme is. So here it goes...
I think I will post the answer after the week is over, but that thinking is subject to change.

Germany - Lubeck: Marienkirche - St. Mary's Church, built c1250 - c1350; demolished 29 March 1942; rebuilt 1947-1959.
Built in 1561 through to 1566, the Astronomical Clock is considered to be a real treasure of both art history and sacred history. It was located behind the High Altar in the ambulatory but was completely destroyed in 1942. Only one dial (which had been replaced with an earlier restoration) remains in the St. Annen Museum. The new Astronomical Clock was constructed on the East side of the Northern transept in the "Death dance" chapel. It is the work of Paul Behrens, a clockmaker in Lübeck, who planned it as his lifetime achievement from 1960 - 1967, collected donations for it and constructed the elements of the clock himself. He also maintained the clock until his death. The clockface is a simplified duplicate of the original. With a complicated mechanical system, the clock shows planetary positions, phases of the sun and moon, signs of the zodiac (astronomically, not astrologically), the date on which Easter falls and the Golden Ratio. At 12 o'clock midday the bells ring out and the movement of the figures before Christ consecrating spurs into action. The figures were originally Electors; after post-war reconstruction they are now eight representatives of the different races and peoples of the world.

Is it possible to give a condensed overview of what people think and believe by documenting what they express in bumper stickers? Over the last month I captured every bumpersticker I could get a hold of in my city.
