Today was the groundbreaking of St. Elizabeth Place, which will preserve the historic St. Elizabeth’s Hospital and Convent as a new development of affordable homes for families and individuals. The mixed-income building will contain studio, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom homes, along with a diverse offering of amenities such as an on-site resource center for career opportunities and regularly offered health and wellness seminars. The renovation of this iconic site marks an important part of redeveloping Lyons Avenue Corridor in the historic Fifth Ward.
