When visiting the amazing Aros art gallery recently in the centre of Aarhus, Denmark's second largest city, I was transfixed by a resident artist creating an impressive new art work in the moment. I was not the only one captivated by this. I think the couple in the 'front row' had been there for a while also enjoying the experience. I noticed they both wore glasses. I was waiting for the split second where you could follow both their sight with the direction of their glasses firmly at the artist. And it happened. A special moment.

So the dark brown wood on the right is the actual original shed. The part on the left, currently covered by the newly built sliding door, is the roof overhang area where we store some wood and our ATV's.
Because the bylaws here say we can only build outbuildings like sheds at 10x10 feet, there are no walls on this area. We have tarped the back and one side and the sliding door protects the inside from the elements while allowing us to have a storage area. The door is 10' wide and can slide over the same distance to the right so we can access the inside.
It still needs another coat of stain plus the cement slabs must be lowered as you can see the bottom of the door is binding on them. Also, handles and latches will be installed. The wind, rain and snow all blow directly toward that door, so it will be a good protection and much easier to access than the tarp and ropes we were using.
In case you are wondering... the cement pipe in front is protecting the access to the well. Every spring the ground heaves and it starts to lean. We will have to take it off and level it. It is in an awkward spot but I guess that's where the previous owners found the water. (!36' down),

"Poetry and progress are like two ambitious men who hate one another with an instinctive hatred, and when they meet upon the same road, one of them has to give place.”
~ Charles Baudelaire
...because we as humans, especially americans, are at the forefront and always moving forward!

Like millions of others, I spent the afternoon waiting to see America's first manned spaceflight mission in nine years.
Unfortunately it was scrubbed because of weather but it was still awesome to see so many others get excited for the event.

thought i would update you on the status of the barn slump since it's been a while. this former edifice is not so much abandoned as it is neglected. and i think looks more so with the foliage than in B&W, actually.

The driver of an unidentified 600mm gauge Diema 4-wheel diesel is hand-sanding (as well as supposedly 'driving'!) whilst struggling along the main running line and approaching the Gnarrenburg-Bremervörde road near Langenhausen, heading a long rake of loaded peat wagons from Augustendorf Moor and destined for Gnarrenburg Peat Works on 26th October 2017.

Well... she wasn't supposed to look so young, she will appear "older" depending on your enb and lighting conditions. I am so bad at creating mature characters :(
Since I haven't been able to give her a custom voice despite all the times I tried, I have decided to give her her own little home where she can be found!
