The Udgam School Annual Teachers Conference was held on 6th June, 2015 in Courtyard Marriott. It was a day of motivation, learning, laughter and recognition. The program began early in the day and was attended by the School Trustees, Directors, Principal, Vice Principals and all teachers and staff. Mrs. Priti Sakhadeo, Supervisor of Middle School, was the anchor for the day and took the audience through the day’s events. The day began with the lighting of the lamp which was followed by a recap of the ‘Year that was’ by the school Executive Director Sri Manan Choksi. Next on agenda were the Plans for the Year presentation by teachers and staff of various sections of the school. The groups spoke at length about challenges and changes in education which they ably presented with PPTs. Eminent educationist Sri. Rajabhai Pathak and school trustee Sri Gautam Choksi inspired the teachers with their motivational talks. The next event involved plenty of laughter not without a fair quota of meaningful onslaughts by noted Gujarati Hasya Kavi Sri Sairam Dave.
This was followed by a sumptuous lunch spread out with plenty of socializing and catching up among the teachers and staff who are just back from a month long vacation. The hour after lunch was an entertaining one with popular Radio Jockey Dhvanit who mesmerized the audience with his ever entertaining talk and songs. The main topic he spoke around was ‘How to engage the audience?’ and he is the right person to speak on this topic. This also helped teachers to pick out ways to keep the class an engaging one.
Sri Manan Choksi then made a presentation which inspired the teachers to find solutions to problems they face at classroom level. Next was Employee Recognition and Motivation through awards to those who had proved themselves to be a shade better than their colleagues this year.
This was indeed a day for the 350 strong teachers and staff of Udgam School who enjoyed a lavish quota of discussion, fun and food.

El director de Prosperidad Social, Pierre García, lideró la jornada de reactivación económica y apoyo a las familias beneficiarias de los programas de asistencia social de la entidad en Tolima.
En Ibagué iniciaron las preinscripciones para el programa “Tiendas para la Gente”, que beneficiará a 500 tenderos, quienes recibirán formación para fortalecer las capacidades personales y empresariales y una capitalización hasta por 2 millones de pesos en inventarios de víveres, abarrotes y productos de aseo.
“Así apoyamos la reactivación de estas unidades de negocio que son fundamentales en la cadena de abastecimiento en los barrios. Hace parte de una estrategia nacional dirigida a 5.700 tenderos ubicados en 12 ciudades donde la entidad invierte 14.820 millones de pesos”, explicó García.
Pierre García participó también de un encuentro con los mejores estudiantes de la institución educativa Guillermo Ángulo Gómez sede Andrés López de Galarza. Como reconocimiento a su desempeño les entregó 19 tablets que fortalecerán sus competencias tecnológicas y académicas.
Además, se entregaron kits de ropa y calzado a 136 beneficiarios y 73 madres líderes del programa Familias en Acción que aportarán a una mejorar calidad de vida de los integrantes de cada hogar.
La inversión total de las donaciones en Ibagué supera los 100 millones de pesos.
La jornada finalizó en los municipios de Honda, Mariquita e Ibagué con las jornadas de bancarización y atención a titulares de Familias en Acción.
García explicó que: “hemos bancarizado unas 12.500 personas titulares de Familias en Acción en Ibagué, Honda y Mariquita, y gracias a esto tienen acceso a servicios financieros que les permite recibir más fácilmente el apoyo monetario que les hace el gobierno nacional, pueden ahorrar, controlar sus gastos e inclusive les permite tener plataformas de pago para sus emprendimientos y así mejorar sus condiciones económicas”.
En el Tolima Familias en Acción ha crecido 9,5% durante el gobierno del presidente Duque. La inversión supera los 327.800 millones de pesos.
El director García además contó que, en Tolima, con los cinco programas de transferencias monetarias, se alcanza un acumulado de 414.114 beneficiarios. En el 2018 este número de beneficiarios en el departamento era de 170.857, lo que representa un incremento del 137%.

Flor de María Ramos, de 23 años, es una joven agricultora y madre soltera, originaria de Bella Vista, Los Planes de la Palma, Chalatenango, El Salvador. “la verdad me gusta bastante la agricultura. Empecé como de los 19 años, comencé por lo más fácil, se puede decir, con lechuga. Ya después vino un proyecto que regalaban estructuras de invernaderos, decidí pedir 2 y los tengo. Y recientemente, después de la cosecha de tomate, sembré lechuga y cebolla. Fíjese que desde pequeña, la verdad, pero cuando estaba más antes de los 19 no tenía cómo trabajar, vaya. Después ya fui dándome una idea, ya me sentía más capaz de trabajar porque quería valor bastante. Las tierras son de un hermano mío, pero el me las presta para cultivarlas. La verdad que yo me siento feliz porque a mí me gusta bastante esto y cuando uno tiene problema, ya uno solo sale, por ejemplo, aquí en el repollal siento que me desahogo bastante”, explica. En esta zona de Chalatenango, ONU MUJERES EL SALVADOR ha promovido el Programa Mujeres, Economía Local y Territorios MELYT que responde, a través de una estrategia multiescalar, a cerrar las brechas históricas para la autonomía económica de las mujeres en términos de acceso a servicios empresariales, a mercados y su inclusión financiera.
