Before WGDR, there was WGOD. WGOD was a carrier current signal that was added to the campus electrical system in the mid 1960s. Wherever you plugged an AM radio into a wall outlet, you could listen to WGOD. In 1973, WGDR 91.1 FM was licensed as a 10-watt station, reaching the Greatwood and Northwood campuses. It was very much a Goddard station. In 1979, the station upgraded to 800 watts, which brought the WGDR signal to Montpelier.
In 2002, when the Residential Undergraduate Program closed, Goddard’s radio station became something unusual in college radio—a station with virtually no student programmers. From 2002 to 2011, the station had been, more or less, a community station, owned by the College and with programming produced by community members rather than students.
In 2011, WGDR extended its network further afield by erecting a tower in Wolcott. The new signal, WGDH 91.7 FM, broadcasts to Lamoille County, reaching the towns of Hardwick, Morrisville and Stowe. They also stream online at www.wgdr.org, making their reach global.

The Birth of a Hacker Culture
When you think of a hacker, what do you think of? A man who breaks into your bank accounts? Someone who steals important documents? To programmers, though, it’s actually a compliment. The new definition of hacker is “a clever programmer.” And within San Antonio and the United States, there are too few of these clever hackers. How do we increase this number? By building a culture of hacking. Through hackathons, maker-fairs and side projects, we can build a culture of hacking that leads to innovation. In this talk, you’ll learn of the various efforts that are underway, as well as how you can be a part of the culture and become a hacker too!

John Carmack,ID Software的founder和Lead Programmer。
Donald E. Knuth。
If code had a tangible form, it would probably look very much like this. No wonder we were so fascinated by it!

With this I can reprogram my vehicles computer to compensate for different tire sizes, increase my timing and optimize my air/fuel ratio for better performance as well as change my shift points, top rpm limiter and top speed limiter. Stock top speed limiter is set at 97 from the factory. Mine is set at 128 mph. I haven't Had enough traffic free room to get that fast with it yet though.... :)
A top-down view of an Innsbruck box with the first level mounted. The faceplate is on the right, the power board is on the upper left. The DDS tower is at the top center with its chain boards below it. The DAC tower is in the middle right with its chain boards below it. The VGA tower is in the top right, between the DDS and DAC towers. The pulse sequencer and its breakout board are in the lower left.
Note that Innsbruck boxes are designed to have the chain boards mounted in a separate tower. This is more physically robust than the MPQ setup.

Burning a bootloader to an ATmega328p using SparkFun's Tiny AVR Programmer[1][2]. These steps are all documented elsewhere, but not together in one place.
Preparing to burn the bootloader:
- Connect as in the photo[3][4]. A bare ATmega328 is likely to be shipped requiring an external 16MHz crystal. A pullup on the reset pin is required. An LED on pin 13 (which is also SCK) is optional.
- Install the Breadboard Arduino board config[5].
- Board > ATmega328 on Breadboard
- Programmer > USBTinyISP
After burning the bootloader with the 8MHz internal clock, the external crystal may be removed.
Uploading a sketch:
- Sketch > Upload using Programmer
The normal sketch upload button does not work (errors like "avrdude: ser_open(): can't open device").
