Towards the end of the ROTOR programme, two final Ground Controlled Intercept sites were proposed and construction started. The two sites were Killard Point in Northern Ireland and Wick in Scotland. Both were to be equipped with a Type 80 radar and a R8 prefabricated operations block.
The site at Wick was to reuse a WW2 Naval direction finding station, the blast walls from one of the receiver buildings still remain. The site was almost all but completed, the R8 having been constructed and the Type 80 modulator building being built, but no fixtures or fittings ever installed. There were also four radar plinths to the north of the site which appear to have been demolished since 2019 (last seen on Google Earth).

Today, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Azerbaijan, together with the State Customs Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan, has launched a project to support the development of a border crossing point between Azerbaijan and Georgia. The project will be focused on the Red Bridge crossing point and is financed by the European Union with a total budget of over 2 660 000 million euro.
The ceremony was attended by representatives from Azerbaijani and Georgian customs services, as well as a European Union delegation, diplomatic corps, and UNDP officers from both countries.
Welcoming the participants, Mr. Aydin Aliyev, Chairperson of the State Custom Committee stressed that the project is an important measure to boost Azerbaijan’s economic efficiency, competitiveness, and innovation-based progress. Mr. Ghulam M. Isaczai, UNDP Resident Representative, expressed his satisfaction with the cooperation between countries and praised the project’s adherence to the UN”s Sustainable Development Goals.
The overall objective of the “Support to the development of Red Bridge Border Crossing Point between Azerbaijan and Georgia” project is to expedite the movement of goods across border between Azerbaijan and Georgia, while at the same time maintaining secure borders through the enhancement of bilateral and multilateral co-operation among the target countries and EU Member States. A key focus of the project will be sanitary and phyto-sanitary measures, as these aspects are increasingly important to both countries.

Forum was exploring practices of organising and supporting residency programmes, examining their role as hubs for inter-local and inter-cultural exchange. It gathered cultural professionals and artists from different fields of contemporary art, as well as decision-makers and experts. It provided an opportunity to discuss and critically reflect on current practices and support models, to learn from each other and to share ideas on how residency programmes can be improved in order to resonate better with current and future cultural and social dynamics. Forum aimed to contribute to the development of cultural policies that would provide an adequate support for such programmes in Croatia and other European countries that share similar challenges. Programme of the Forum consisted of working sessions, panel discussions, conversations and presentations.
