The Fall 2010 Student Hackathon brought in hundreds of students from 30 universities to NYU's Courant Institute for 24 hours of creative hacking on New York City startups' APIs.
Selected startups presented their technologies at the beginning of the event, and students formed groups to brainstorm and begin coding on their ideas. Many students worked into the night, foregoing sleep to fulfill their visions.
On Sunday afternoon students presented their projects to an audience including a judging panel, which selected the final winners.
hackNY hosts hackathons one each semester, as well as a Summer Fellows Program, which pairs quantitative and computational students with startups which can demonstrate a strong mentoring environment, a problem for a student to work on, a person to mentor them, and a place for them to work. Startups selected to host a student are expected to compensate student Fellows. Students enjoy free housing together and a pedagogical lecture series to introduce them to the ins and outs of joining and founding a startup.

I was a Canon (fan)boy for quite a long time but I have never owned their manual focus FD line. That is, until now. :)
HISTORIA
Esta magnífica cámara entró a fabricarse dentro de la serie A, lanzada por la Canon a mediados de los años 70 y hasta principios de los 80. Este modelo, específicamente, hizo su aparición en el año 1981 y fue el penúltimo de la serie. Esta cámara fue el modelo oficial que representó los Juegos Olímpicos del año 1984. Muchísimos fotógrafos profesionales le han otorgado un gran reconociendo al trabajo con ella, de tal manera, que hoy todavía la tienen como parte de su equipamiento.

ESPECIFICACIONES TÉCNICAS
Tipo: Cámara refléx de un solo objetivo (SLR) de 35mm, con control electrónico de la exposición automática (AE) y el obturador plano.
Modalidades de exposición: AE programada, AE con prioridad de la alta velocidad del obturador, fotografía AE con flash con los Speedlites Canon específicos, y control manual.
Formato: 24 X 36mm.
Objetivos utilizables: Objetivos Canon FD (para medición a plena abertura) y Canon FL y las series no-FD (para medición con el objetivo diafragmado).
Objetivos normales: FD f1, 2/50mm, FD f1, 4/50mm y FD f 1,8/50mm.
Visor: Visor del prisma pentagonal fijo a nivel de los ojos. Abarca verticalmente un 94 % y horizontalmente un 94 % también del área de la imagen con un aumento de 0,83x usando un objetivo normal enfocado al infinito.
Ajuste a la vista individual: El ocular incorporado esta graduado a -1.
Pantalla de enfoque: Telémetro normal de imagen partida/microprismas y otros siete tipos de pantallas intercambiables opcionales.
Mecanismo AE (Exposición Automática): AE programada con control electrónico y sistema fotométrico de AE con prioridad de velocidad del obturador usando un CI y tres LSI con I2L.
Sistema de medición de luz: Medición a través del objetivo (TTL). Sistema promediado con énfasis en el área central mediante fotocélula de silicio (SPC).
Alcance de acoplamiento del exposímetro: Desde EV1 (1 seg. a f1.4) hasta EV 18 (1/1000seg. a f16) con película de 100ASA/ISO y objetivo de luminosidad F1.4.
Memorización de la exposición: El valor EV queda retenido cuando se pulsa el disparador hasta la mitad de su recorrido y se pulsa de una sola vez el conmutador de bloqueo AE. La exposición permanece memorizada en tanto se mantenga pulsado el disparador en la posición indicada.
Verificación previa de la exposición: Pulsando el disparador o el botón de verificación previa de la exposición.
Obturador: De tela, de plano focal, con cuatro rodillos controlado electrónicamente. Con mecanismo amortiguador de vibración y ruido.
Espejo: De retorno instantáneo; provisto de mecanismo amortiguador de vibraciones.
Dial de sensibilidades ASA de la película: De 12 a 3200 ASA/ISO.
Dial selector de velocidades del obturador: 2 seg. -1/1000 seg., . En todos los circuitos quedan desconectados como medida de seguridad. La posición es para fotografiar con autodisparador.
Autodisparador: Controlado electrónicamente. Retardo de 10 segundos con zumbido electrónico. El número de pitidos emitidos por segundo aumenta dos segundos antes del disparo. Desconexión posible.
Palanca de diafragmado: Para verificación de la profundidad de campo (objetivo FD) o para la medición (con objetivos que no sean FD o con accesorios para fotografía cercana).
Fuentes de alimentación: Una pila de 6V de manganeso alcalino. La vida útil de la pila en uso normal es de alrededor de un año.
Comprobación de la pila: Cuando se pulsa el botón de comprobación de la pila, se produce una serie de zumbidos de advertencia.
Sincronización del flash: La sincronización X es de 1/60seg. La sincronización M de 1/30seg. o inferior. Contacto directo para el flash a través de la zapata para accesorios.
Flash automático: Fotografía AE con flash total con los Canon Speedlites especificados. Ajuste automático de la velocidad del obturador. Control automático de la abertura en función de la que se ha ajustado en el flash en el momento de encenderse la lámpara piloto.
Tapa trasera: Se abre mediante el rebobinador. Intercambiable. Con porta etiquetas.
Carga de película: Mediante bobina receptora multirranurada.
Palanca de avance de la película: Movimiento único de 120º con una retención de 30º. Es posible el avance con movimientos cortos.
Contador de diafragmas: Tipo sumador. Se restaura automáticamente a al abrir el respaldo. Guante el rebobinado de la película cuanta hacia atrás.
Rebobinado de la película: Mediante botón de rebobinado y rebobinador.
Otros dispositivos de seguridad: La cámara no funciona cuando la carga de la pila es insuficiente. El avance de la película es imposible durante el funcionamiento del obturador.
Dimensiones: 141mm x 88mm x 47.5mm, solo el cuerpo de la cámara.
Peso: 575 gramos el cuerpo solamente.

五嶋龍是國際知名小提琴家五嶋綠(Midori)的親弟弟，1988年出生於紐約，3歲開始學琴，7歲就在日本札幌的太平洋音樂節登台，以一曲帕格尼尼第一號小提琴協奏曲一鳴驚人。
至今，五嶋龍曾與許多國際知名樂團合作演出，包括美國華盛頓國家交響樂團、英國倫敦交響樂團、加拿大溫哥華交響樂團、義大利托斯卡尼尼交響樂團等;琴藝過人的他，更是許多大師如：阿胥肯納吉、羅林•馬捷爾、麥斯基等人點名合作的對象。在家鄉日本，他更是演出邀約不斷，風靡無數樂迷。
兼具東方的謙和與西方的熱情灑脫，雖然目前是哈佛大學的高材生，五嶋龍可不是個書呆子，既忙於演奏事業，還是空手道黑帶高手、吉他好手，也跟同好組室內樂團「玩」音樂，「天才」美名可不是過譽。
