Volunteer Costa Rica Sea Turtles Conservation Program These programs are scattered along the Pacific Coast with the main projects in Puntarenas and Guanacaste provinces. The projects range from very secluded locations that require 4/4 vehicles and boats to access the program area to those closer to towns. Volunteers participate on the sea turtle preservation including monitoring and registering nesting patterns, record keeping of eggs, moving eggs to the hatchery, beach patrols, freeing of the newborns to the ocean. Experience not required, but anticipate strange work hours (middle of the night!) and lots of time spent on the beach. * Most births occur between July and November. #volunteer #costarica #seaturtles #abroaderview

Ella participa también en el grupo de ahorro y préstamo “Cultivando El Ahorro” impulsados por el Programa Mujeres, Economía Local y Territorios MELYT, de ONU MUJERES El Salvador que responde, a través de una estrategia multiescalar, a cerrar las brechas históricas para la autonomía económica de las mujeres en términos de acceso a servicios empresariales, a mercados y su inclusión financiera.
USG successfully hosted the second annual Achieving Collegiate Excellence and Success (ACES) Summer Bridge Program from June 16-19, 2015. ACES seeks to support students and create a seamless pathway from high school to college completion.
ACES focuses on career preparation and exploration. Rising seniors from local high schools participate in activities that develop leadership, teamwork, and interpersonal skills essential for success in today's workforce.
Coaching and support will continue for ACES scholars as they pursue their education with Montgomery County Public Schools, Montgomery College, and the Universities at Shady Grove.
Many of these photos were taken by the youth themselves during a two week film program we facilitated in Cambridge Bay, Nunavut in partnership with the Pitquhirnikkut Ilihautiniq/Kitikmeot Heritage Society. The project produced six films - five mini-documentaries about local elders lives and climate change, and a documentary celebrating a Kamik (boot) making workshop.

On December 9, 2016, the Arboretum and Public Garden had the opportunity to welcome a group of students from a journalism program in Visalia CA. The aspiring young journalists had the opportunity to interview our Museum Education & Interpretive Manager- Maya Makker, GATEways Outreach Students- Vivian Le and Rachel Le and our Outreach and Leadership Program Coordinator- Melissa Cruz.

El programa Bachiller Digital, de la Prefectura de Los Ríos, marca un antes y un después en la historia de la educación de la provincia y del país.
Momentos llenos de felicidad fueron los que vivimos en la segunda entrega de 397 computadoras portátiles a los estudiantes de los terceros de bachillerato de las unidades educativas fiscales Junín, Quintiliano Sánchez Rendón, Juan Montalvo y Fluminense. Esta última, perteneciente a la parroquia rural Patricia Pilar, nuestra Centinela de Los Ríos.
Con su herramienta digital en mano, los jóvenes, futuros bachilleres de la república, beneficiados de este programa, no dejaban de expresar su alegría por tan importante apoyo que estamos brindando a su proceso de formación académica. A ese sentimiento de emotividad se unieron sus padres y representantes, a quienes agradezco por su presencia en este evento.
Mi reconocimiento y gratitud a los directivos del Club Patria por facilitarnos las instalaciones del coliseo de la localidad.

DSTL Arts presented their program and student artwork at the DTLA Night Market, community event, including sponsoring the DTLA Night Market Art Battle where 6 local artists competed in a timed, themed art contest. The winner of the Art Battle was Geoff Pascual, with his watercolor painting of a geisha.
In addition to sponsoring the art battle, DSTL Arts had the opportunity to make new friends and expand our brand with the creative community of Los Angeles, thereby exposing the art created by our students to a larger group of supporters.
