Brighter Bites is a collaborative effort designed to improve access to healthy, affordable food and provide nutrition education. The University of Texas School of Public Health, KIPP Schools, the Houston Food Bank and Texas Children's Hospital have partnered to offer the 16-week program to third-grade children enrolled at KIPP Explore Academy and their parents. As you can see from the photos, those healthy kale smoothies are a hit!

WSSU Mobile Clinic Holds Community Health Day on Aug. 6
Community Health Day by the RAMS Know H.O.W. (Healthcare on Wheels), mobile clinic from the School of Health Sciences at Winston-Salem State University (WSSU) that will provide wellness services including blood pressure checks, height and weight measurements, body mass index and health related educational materials.
WSSU faculty and students have played a major role in providing health care services in the communities surrounding the university, particularly to those who may lack access to health care. The mobile clinic, Rams Know H.O.W., allows the School of Health Sciences to deliver preventive services and outreach programs in the convenience of individual neighborhoods while also enriching the learning experience for students. The mobile clinic was launched in the fall of 2011.

On Wednesday, April 27, the IVC Puente Program celebrated its 2nd cohort with their annual End-of-Year Celebration at the IVC Performing Arts Center.
