My love for sunsets is ever growing and i am keeping a close eye on every single sunset at least in Miami area and not letting them go. My observation that this year Miami's weather is not that cooperative and a decent sunset is a rare event. I will also like to hear your thoughts about sunsets in other areas.

Ellery Lake, Yosemite, Elevation 9538 feet. This was one of those moments while i was driving on Tioga pass road paying full attention on driving.well not really..and after a sharp turn i looked in the back view mirror and almost forgot that i was driving. i thought i saw a painting in the mirror. within few seconds i was parked in the shoulder. got dirty looks from the forest ranger for stopping so fast. jumped out of the car like the view was going to disappear. Luckily it didn't disappear. I really enjoy the view. hope you guys enjoy as well.
The waves at the Cape are impressive, and the view from the peak extends all the way to Cape Lookout and Nestucca Bay to the north. Used my 11mm lens for this shot.
I think it's going to take about a year to go through all the photos I shot down in that canyon. There are three big waterfalls down there. Mooney Falls is the tallest. Navajo Falls is the widest. This is Havasu Falls, the main one. Probably the prettiest one. Definitely the most visited, and photographed. It's also the only one that you can see without getting wet, or scaling down the side of a cliff. I had seen so many photos of this place before I went, and I always thought the photos didn't look real. They looked fake, like a painting. When I got there, and saw it with my own eyes, it actually did look fake, like some big man-made waterfall in a resort. I realized that all the photos I've seen really were exactly what it looks like. The only thing I did to this is I added a hint of Orton effect to enhance the dreamlike quality. The water really is this AMAZING color!
Another from this mornings FANTASTIC, AMAZING photo shoot at the Grand Canyon. This morning was just one of those once in a lifetime photo opportuniities. When I first got there it was a complete white out. The canyon wasn't even visible. As the snow storm started to clear, the clouds dropped down into the canyon, creating this spectacular scene. This was one of the last ones I shot, you can see a little bit of blue sky starting to break out in the distance.

yea just can't have enough shots of reflection. the only problem is how to keep all the ducks in a row. water, light, boats, air planes and did i mention mosquitoes ...last time i had to actually park my car right next to my tripod. i would press the stutter and run inside my car to escape the army of mosquitoes. lol..

Ariel of AMW Studios, wedding photographers based in Asheville, North Carolina. amwstudios.com/ She was shooting engagement photos of a couple whose wedding will be at Biltmore House in June. And I was shooting photos of her. I didn't have a polarizing filter, so had to edit after the fact for a somewhat washed out sky. I'm open to suggestions about which polarizing filter those of you who use them might like to recommend.

Upper Falls is 1,430 ft plunge and is among the twenty highest waterfalls in the world. The upper fall is formed by the swift waters of Yosemite Creek, which, after meandering through Eagle Creek Meadow, hurl themselves over the edge of a hanging valley in a spectacular and deafening show of force.
This shot was taken from 4 miles trail. 4 miles trails prolly offers the best views of this fall. it was really windy when i took this shot. i did hear something dropped and when i looked around that was the hood of my 400mm lens. i leaned forward and realized that i am standing on the edge of more than 2000 feet high shear cliff and last time i saw my lens hood flying down the valley. if someone finds it while in Yosemite, don't forget to tell me. btw its color is black and it says canon on it :)

This is one of those photos which made me real happy. This was actually a hidden treasure. after enjoy a beautiful sunset i was walking on Watson island when i noticed a little puddle of water which happened due to rain and was hardly a few feet wide. while just walking by it,one could never imagine what is hiding in this little puddle of water. but when i actually laid down on ground and i was practically kissing the ground i saw this amazing view. next question was how to put my camera on wet ground so low. because the line of sight was so low that one had to be almost at the level of ground to see this. the only ray of hope was a grocery bag in my car which i put on wet ground so i can put my camera on it. used my wallet and iphone to level the camera. since i was on my knees , that rocky ground was not comfy at all. so i took off my shirt and put on ground. now don't imagine me laying on the ground on my knees with no shirt on in front of a puddle of water going nuts to take this photo..lol..by the way did i mention big fat misquotes.

Miami Seaplane Base (IATA: MPB, FAA LID: X44) is a public-use seaplane base located 2 miles east of the central business district of Miami on Watson Island in Miami, Florida, United States. The seaplane base is publicly owned. But what i care is how much fun it is when your plane takes off and lands in the water and you have to actually walk in water to get to the plane. And donot forget your camera when you go on one of these trips :-)

This is an old favorite. I shot this around 1990, during my only wintertime trip to Maine. This was near Bar Harbor. I just love the screaming color of the lobster pot buoys against the softness of the background. This is a very old shot. I think this was shot on Fugichrome slide film with an old 4x5 Graflex camera.
