A rare opportunity to ask questions from the team. They look eager to help, don`t they?
(I have no idea if I am allowed to use SL Logo like this? Hopefully someone corrects me if I have broken some rules)
Warner Bros. Studios, Leavesden is one of only a few places in the United Kingdom where large scale film productions can be made. The studios contain approximately 50,000 m2 (538,196 sq ft) of flexible space which includes stage space, one of the largest filtered and heated stage-based water tanks in Europe, production office space, workshops and support buildings, along with an extensive 32-hectare (79-acre) backlot which offers a 180 degree uninterrupted horizon, favourable for exterior sets. Following an over £110m refurbishment by Warner Bros. the studios are now one of the largest and most state-of-the-art secure filmmaking facilities in the world.
Though the studios are owned by Warner Bros., all of the studio facilities are available to rent for any production. Since acquiring the site Warner Bros. has opened a public attraction called Warner Bros. Studio Tour London - The Making of Harry Potter, which receives over 6,000 visitors a day at peak times all whilst the site maintains a secure studio space within the same complex.

In the 19th century and in early 20th century oil from the large grey polarsea sharks was high priced export to Europe, used to lighten the streets of larger cities.
In Skálavík two large pots to work the oil out of the liver are still to be seen

Thinking of my sweet gray asymmetrical boy's traits and fitting those to a probable and fitting day job....I know he would shine as a production manager...he likes his people to be in their places at expected times doing their routines. If not, there is the 'scowl' and verbiage and perfected body language. JAX keeps us in line! Happy Caturday to everyone.
Mid 1950's Simplex Automatic
Simplex was founded by Paul Treen (father of United States Congressman and Louisiana Governor David Conner Treen) in New Orleans, Louisiana in the late 1920s with an initial investment of $25.00 Treen had been a dealer in Harley-Davidson motorcycles and had pitched them the idea of making a lightweight motorcycle for young riders. When Harley-Davidson rejected the idea, Treen decided to enter the market himself and designed his Servi-Cycle. The Simplex Servi-Cycle was introduced in 1935.
Although Simplex Manufacturing Corporation produced motorcycles for over 20 years, the last Simplex Automatics looked almost the same as the company's original 1935 Simplex Servi-Cycle motorcycle. Paul Treen would often visit the factory's tool shop and work with the engineers on new ideas himself, resulting in continuous improvements to Simplex products instead of annual new model introductions.
The two-stroke engine had a rotary valve and an "overhung" crankshaft with only one main bearing. A kick-starter was added by 1953.
Western Auto sold Simplex motorcycles under the Wizard brand in the mid-1950s.
Simplex's minimalist philosophy was maintained throughout the company's history, whose designs changed little after 1935. By the 1950s Simplex's designs were primitive, leading to the end of Servi-Cycle and Automatic production in 1960. Simplex continued to make minibikes and karts using proprietary small engines until 1975, when Simplex went out of business. Treen had sold the company three years earlier, in 1972

This is an aerial shot of the Tata Salt Plant near Northwich, Cheshire. I believe salt has been extracted in this area for several hundred years, certainly before anyone had heard of Tata. The firm produces sodium carbonate, sodium bicarbonate and of course, sodium chloride.
Some 100 amphibious vehicles from all around the world gathered in Amsterdam for a week of fun.
Almost every day they had a drive and float in the historic canals of Amsterdam, Utrecht and the surrounding areas.
As from 2025 this event will no longer be held in Amsterdam, as no vessels with an internal combustion engine will be allowed on the historic canals of Amsterdam.
