The view of the city centre and Bath Abbey from Smallcombe vale after sunset. Spectacular colourful illumination of the city center over Christmas holiday that started last year to support local economy and honoured efforts of NHS during pandemic. The project was supported by the Bath Business Improvement District (Bath BID) and designed and produced by Fineline Lighting and Visit Bath. Taken from Widcombe Hill, Bath, England, UK.

Versalis Germany produces LDPE (Low Density Polyethylene) and EVAC (Ethylene Vinyl Acetate Copolymer) at the Oberhausen site. The large-scale plant was put into operation in 1972. The products have a wide range of uses and become various products such as packaging, food, hygiene and greenhouse films, as well as hoses, foams, injection molded articles and compounds for the household goods, footwear, packaging, pharmaceutical, automotive and sports industries processed.

Walking on the pier in Ostend, I waited for approximately an hour in the cold and icy wind to produce this shot. All the lights under the benches just went on. Yes, this was the moment I was waiting for, the perfect blue hour with just a bit of the sunset.

Tullamore D.E.W. is a brand of Irish whiskey produced by William Grant & Sons. It is the second largest selling brand of Irish whiskey globally, with sales of over 950,000 cases per annum as of 2015.

The whiskey was originally produced in the Tullamore, County Offaly, Ireland, at the old Tullamore Distillery which was established in 1829. Its name is derived from the initials of Daniel E. Williams (D.E.W.), a general manager and later owner of the original distillery. In 1954, the original distillery closed down, and with stocks of whiskey running low, the brand was sold to John Powers & Son, another Irish distiller in the 1960s, with production transferred to the Midleton Distillery, County Cork in the 1970s following a merger of three major Irish distillers.

In 2010, the brand was purchased by William Grant & Sons, who constructed a new distillery on the outskirts of Tullamore. The new distillery opened in 2014, bringing production of the whiskey back to the town after a break of sixty years.

In 2012, a visitor centre was opened in a refurbished bonded warehouse previously belonging to the original distillery. The centre offers guided tours and tutored tastings ranging from 50 minutes to 5 hours in duration.

During the breeding season in spring and summer, the male frogs advertise their availability with loud bursts of quacking croaks. They produce this impressive sound by inflating two vocal sacs on either side of their head, which push out like giant bubbles as they vocalise. These air-filled sacks amplify their calls, so they can be heard clearly from some distance away. Once one male starts to call, his neighbours soon join in, until the whole wetland is filled with a chorus of cackling.

This one certainly attracted the attention of the local females! He could be heard the entire length of the BWC!

As the Summer fades in the memory, and Autumn wraps it wet and warm snuggles around. It is time to bring in the harvest. Some vegetables just finishing, such as the beans, some just starting, like the pears and grapes.

I shoot in AV mode most of the time, today I decided to try Manual... and was really happy with the results... but so much to think about!! lol...

The climate here in Greece coupled with the fertile nature of the soil means an abundance of high quality cheap fruit and vegetables, eg, a kilo of oranges or lemons or grapefruit (around two pounds in weight) costs around one Euro!

Arizona Blister Beetle (Epicauta arizonica) is a striking insect found in the southwestern United States and northern Mexico, thriving in desert and semi-arid regions. Adults feed on the leaves and flowers of plants, while their larvae parasitize grasshopper eggs. Though fascinating, these beetles can be pests, damaging crops like alfalfa and posing risks to livestock due to the toxic cantharidin they produce.

Produced from 1944, this Griffon engined model designed for photo-reconnaissance had a top speed in excessive of 440mph, not far short of the earliest jets. At least one of these remained in RAF services until 1963.

I was feeling so accomplished this morning. I got up at 5:40, went to Jazzercise, stopped by the grocery store and set up to take my image all before 8:00. You wouldn't think this would have been that hard to put together but fruits and veggies are roundish and want to roll away so I had to herd them back into the pile. I had it all set up, snapped a few shots only to discover I had things in the frame that weren't supposed to be so I had to rearrange and shoot again. Working on my mmmm Monday series. Wishing you a delicious rainbow today!

A mushroom, or toadstool, is the fleshy, spore-bearing fruiting body of a fungus, typically produced above ground, on soil, or on its food source. The standard for the name mushroom is the cultivated white button mushroom, Agaricus bisporus; hence the word mushroom is most often applied to those fungi (Basidiomycota, Agaricomycetes) that have a stem (stipe), a cap (pileus), and gills (lamellae, sing. lamella) on the underside of the cap. Mushroom also describes a variety of other gilled fungi, with or without stems, therefore the term is used to describe the fleshy fruiting bodies of some Ascomycota. These gills produce microscopic spores that help the fungus spread across the ground or its occupant surface. Forms deviating from the standard morphology usually have more specific names, such as bolete, puffball, stinkhorn, and morel, and gilled mushrooms themselves are often called agarics in reference to their similarity to Agaricus or their order Agaricales. By extension, the term mushroom can also refer to either the entire fungus when in culture, the thallus (called a mycelium) of species forming the fruiting bodies called mushrooms, or the species itself. 20063

A trip to my favorite grocery store yesterday helped me with my photo today. I had never seen or purchased purple cauliflower but that is what helped me envision the image. Lovely colorful visions filled my head all night and I am grateful for the vividness of my dreams.

PENDING... Ribes

More from the garden, a beautiful deep rich colour... open inviting.

Ribes sanguineum (Ornamental Currant), when young in Spring, they have a strong resinous scent. The flowers are produced in early spring at the same time as the leaves emerge.

This member of the gooseberry family is a plant we know well in Great Britain and the Continent.

As it has escaped from gardens many years ago, and is now naturalised along many roadside hedgerows, where it is to be seen in flower in March, long before other woody species are in bloom.

Its leaves have a pungent smell and are very like those of the gooseberry, but it is without the gooseberry's sharp thorns. It usually grows up to about 2-3 m tall.

With love to you and thanx for your comments, M, (* _ *)

Tatra-87 was produced in 1936-50 in Czechoslovakia. This rear engined sedan (the unorthodox layout inherited by all the subsequent Tatra passenger vehicles) had a 3.0L OHC V8. Besides the rear engine placement, the car is famous for its timeless Art Deco design. This particular example is from 1949.

This photo was taken at Airlie which is a hotel/ conference center outside of Warrenton VA. Notice the Love sign in the background? Here is what that is about: "The state tourism department has placed LOVE signs throughout the state. The “LOVEworks” were designed by various artists out of materials related to the local area where the sign is placed. The goal is to have the signs as backdrops as visitors take their photo in front of the letters L-O-V-E." This was just the beginning of our day out adventure! The grounds of this place are just gorgeous and we have plans to return after the flowers come out! They actually have a working farm and use the produce in their restaurants.

A sketch of the Jubilee Bridge in Matlock Bath, Derbyshire and all my own work! Well I did take the original photo and then used the Huawei photo editor on my phone to produce this rather appealing sketch effect of the bridge. And don’t be led to believe that the bridges name is regarding the recent Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II in 2022, it is in fact to commemorate the Golden Jubilee of Queen Victoria in 1887 about 135yrs earlier!

Jubilee Bridge, is an iron bridge costing £230 and was placed in position on 14 June, 1887 in time for the Golden Jubilee of Queen Victoria eight days later. It was an immensely significant event for the village as, until then, the only access to the Lovers' Walks on the other bank of the River Derwent had been by ferry. As it was being erected there was a minor drama …….

“ While workmen were engaged in preparation for the erection of the new iron bridge, one of their number missed his foothold and fell into the river. The Derwent at this point is rather deep, but a boat was put off to the man's rescue, and he was lifted in and conveyed to the bank, not much worse for the immersion”.
