thanks to Joe Heeney, who has authorised me to use this photo of the very same plane in the previous photo...here is the end of this remarkable plane that I believe was manufactured in 1963...eventually airframe corrosion becomes so rampant that it is beyond economic repair ...the death knell has sounded...shortly after this photo was taken, the plane was wheeled into a hangar, and systematically reduced to rubble..an amazing time lapse video taken from a ceiling mounted camera exists showing the complete airframe disappear in about 15 minutes...in real time I think it took about 3 months !!..wish I could see it again..it was heart rending to see it's massacre....some one in Shannon can perhaps direct us??..maybe it is on YouTube..

on a trip to Toulouse in 2009, to see the brand new private A330 ordered by the boss...who is currently under arrest since 2017..the interior of the plane was carried out by Lufthansa in Hamburg, I seem to remember...the boss got a few good rides out of it before being confined...plane is stored somewhere in a cheapo parking spot in Europe on a low maintenance schedule...awaiting the release of the owner...which may never happen...I was not selected to upgrade to this machine due to internal politics...so stayed on the 767/757/737-800 BBJ ...

amazing to see this machine at the Airbus factory with bare skin inside and out...looked so huge !!!!...
