On June 29, 2016, Lieutenant Governor Kathy Hochul joined Congresswoman Nita Lowey for a roundtable discussion to mark the National Day of Action to Prevent Gun Violence. They were joined by Dalia Roshal, a 7th grade student from Hartsdale and advocates for gun violence prevention and women’s justice.
Lieutenant Governor Kathy Hochul said: "We are tired of burying our children, our friends and our neighbors at the hands of people using assault weapons in the United States. In New York State, Governor Cuomo led the charge to pass the most comprehensive gun violence prevention in the country. Now Republicans in Congress must do the same and stop prioritizing politics over people's lives."

Andalucía va a mantener la mayoría de las medidas preventivas e higiénico sanitarias actualmente vigentes en la comunidad con el objetivo de evitar una posible cuarta ola de la pandemia por Covid-19. Esta decisión se ha tomado hoy en el Palacio de San Telmo, tras la reunión del Consejo Asesor de Alertas de Salud Pública de Alto Impacto, presidida por el presidente de la Junta, Juanma Moreno.
Aunque la situación epidemiológica y de presión asistencial en la comunidad autónoma tiende a estabilizarse, el también conocido como Comité de Expertos ha propuesto el mantenimiento de estas medidas ya que los niveles continúan siendo altos, con registros similares a los de la primera ola del mes de marzo.
En los últimos días, la incidencia acumulada de PDIA (Prueba diagnóstica de infección activa) a 14 días y a 7 días refleja que la pandemia se encuentra en fase de meseta en Andalucía. No obstante, los niveles de presión asistencial se mantienen en UCI por encima del 20%.
En cuanto a la incidencia de la cepa británica en Andalucía, el análisis de los equipos técnicos y las secuencias genéticas dictaminan que es la causante de un 60% de los positivos. Asimismo, los expertos han tenido en cuenta el porcentaje actual de inmunizados en Andalucía que se sitúa en el 2,7%, debido a la reducida cantidad de dosis de vacunas recibidas hasta ahora.

The photo should satisfy requirement 2 because the main object was motion blurred but the background was sharp. I set a tripod in front of a shop, waiting for people passing by. I used shutter speed 1/15 to create blurriness for moving subjects and took the photo when a person posed a victory gesture in front of the camera. It was during the daytime, and I'm using long shutter speed. I lower the ISO to 100 to prevent overexpose. To prevent the background being blurred, I used f/9.0 to larger the depth of field.
In the posting, I increased the contrast and make the blue more vibrant to make the subject stand out even though the subject is blurred.

Al final del pasaje 21, sexto sector Gómez Carreño
Alcaldesa Virginia Reginato presenta en terreno el Plan de Prevención de Incendios Forestales Urbanos de Viña del Mar correspondiente a la temporada 2014-2015, cuyo objetivo principal es proteger a la población y sectores vulnerables a la ocurrencia de incendios forestales en esta época del año, áreas que según estudios municipales corresponden a 60 kilómetros cuadrados.
Este año el municipio ha destinado la cifra récord de 1.029.896.616 millones de pesos, la que será invertida en el financiamiento de labores como: limpieza de laderas, quebradas, microbasurales, sitios eriazos y áreas verdes; construcción de 89 km. lineales de cortafuegos con maquinaria pesada y despeje de accesos para permitir el acercamiento expedito de maquinaria en casos de siniestros. Para este programa la municipalidad cuenta con recursos humanos y materiales de la Dirección de Operaciones y Servicios y Dideco.
Cabe destacar que el Plan de Prevención de Incendios Forestales también tiene como objetivo promover en la comunidad acciones de autocuidado y previsión, para que los vecinos asuman la responsabilidad de colaborar en el cuidado de su entorno, para lo cual en los próximos días se iniciará un programa de capacitación en estas materias preventivas.
En el lugar de la presentación se dispondrán cuadrillas de operarios y maquinaria municipal, camiones aljibe, vehículos de emergencia y operarios; además de vehículos de CONAF y Bomberos; y se realizarán labores de desmalezado y construcción de cortafuegos.
Es importante señalar en la implementación de este Plan de Prevención se ha considerado el trabajo de la Mesa Técnica para la Prevención de Riesgos y Emergencias de Viña del Mar, constituida en mayo de este año, con el apoyo de la Unión Europea.
En esta instancia impulsada por la alcaldesa Virginia Reginato, y cuyo objetivo es la reducción de riesgos naturales y antrópicos (a causa del hombre) presentes en la comuna, trabajan coordinadamente con el municipio diversos servicios e instituciones vinculados al tema, entre ellos el Gobierno Regional, ONEMI, Bomberos, Carabineros, Gobernación Marítima y Seremías de Gobierno, por citar algunas.
Gracias a esta mesa de trabajo la municipalidad ha visto enriquecido su Plan de Prevención de Incendios Urbanos con iniciativas como:
-El levantamiento de un catastro geo-referenciado de todos los micro basurales de la comuna, la mantención de zonas boscosas y programas de retiro de residuos voluminosos por un costo superior a los 716 millones de pesos, acciones que permiten prevenir eventuales focos de incendios.
-Estudios para la instalación de nuevos grifos en sectores vulnerables.
-La próxima implementación de un Plan de Participación Ciudadana, a desarrollarse en conjunto con DIDECO y CONAF.
Junto a lo anterior, la Municipalidad de Viña del Mar se encuentra solicitando al Gobierno Regional recursos por 450 millones de pesos para la adquisición de nueva infraestructura y equipamiento que colaboren en las tareas de prevención de incendios.
