To prevent tooth decay:

Brush your teeth at least twice a day with afluoride -containing toothpaste . Preferably, brush after each meal and especially before going to bed.

Clean between your teeth daily with dental floss or interdental cleaners, such as the Oral-B Interdental Brush, Reach Stim-U-Dent, or Sulcabrush.

Eat nutritious and balanced meals and limit snacks. Avoid carbohydrates such as candy, pretzels and chips, which can remain on the tooth surface. If sticky foods are eaten, brush your teeth soon afterwards.

Check with your dentist about use of supplemental fluoride, which strengthens your teeth.

Ask your dentist about dental sealants (a plastic protective coating) applied to the chewing surfaces of your back teeth (molars) to protect them from decay.

Drink fluoridated water. At least a pint of fluoridated water each day is needed to protect children from tooth decay.

Visit your dentist regularly for professional cleanings and oral exam.

A mouth rinse containing fluoride can help prevent tooth decay, according to the American Dental Association.

The first event of 2016 in the Salon Series jointly organized by the the U.S. Mission’s Future She Deserves initiative and Women@TheTable explored “Men & Boys, Women & Girls: Preventing Gender-Based Violence.” Ambassador Pamela Hamamoto urged participants to act as catalysts for change, focusing the collective expertise of International Geneva on addressing a global epidemic that represents a public health and human rights concern for every country. "Gender based violence knows no social, economic, or national boundaries," Ambassador Hamamoto said. "It's a human rights violation, a public health challenge, but also a barrier to civic, social, political and economic participation."

The group was joined by Nazir Afzal, OBE, former Chief Crown Prosecutor for the North West of England, a global leader on child protection and violence against women and girls. Afzal emphasized that working to prevent violence is every bit as essential as prosecution. “Fifteen years ago I realized that prosecution was actually a failure. Because by the time you prosecute somebody, somebody has been harmed.” Educating children that women’s rights are human rights needs to start much earlier, ideally in kindergarten, Afzal stressed. “Until such time as we educate it out, working with as young people as possible, we are going to have this issue for generations and generations.”

See the miniclamp preventing the boom stand to collaps. With the camera and the weight this thing is really heavy and it is just a modified loudspeaker stand, so I secured the thing with the superstrong miniclamp. Still I was quit scared it would crash my 5D.

Preventing the spread of nuclear weapons and creating the conditions for nuclear disarmament are at the center of discussions at the United Nations in Geneva this week as parties to the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty gather for NPT Prepcom 2018. “This meeting provides the opportunity reflect on our common interests in maintaining the Treaty, on our shared responsibility to strengthen the NPT regime in all its aspects…” said Dr. Christopher Ford, Assistant Secretary of State for International Security and Non-Proliferation at the opening plenary. “An effective nonproliferation regime is also a key element in building security conditions conducive to progress on nuclear disarmament.”

Crossing the canal between the Bluecoat and the wall of the former tollhouse outside the Northgate, you can see a dangerous-looking stone footbridge- known as the Bridge of Sighs.

This was built by Joseph Turner (who was also the architect of the Bridgegate and the Watergate) in July 1793 for the sum of £20 in order to prevent the many, often successful, attempts to rescue condemned prisoners in the Northgate Gaol when they crossed the canal cutting to the chapel of Little St. John and the 'apartment made for prisoners' to receive the last rites of the church before their execution.

COMMON NAME (S): Bighorn Sheep (Bighorn)

SCIENTIFIC NAME: Ovis canadensis

CLASSIFICATION: Phylum: Chordata

Class: Mammalia

Order: Artiodactyla

Family: Bovidae

DESCRIPTION: Length: 5.5-6 feet (1.7-1.8 meters) including tail

Height at the shoulder: 3-3.5 feet (0.9-1.1 meters)

Weight: 100-300 pounds (45-136 kg.)

General: Mature bighorn rams are much larger than the ewes, with larger, curling horns. Both sexes have a prominent white rump patch.

RANGE: Isolated area of the eastern slopes of the Cascade Mountains.

HABITAT: Isolated mountain meadows up to the treeline that provide forage, water and escape terrain.

STATUS: General: Secure.

WA State: Existence is in danger due to increasing habitat destruction and domestic animal diseases.

DIET: Consists primarily of alpine and meadow grasses in the summer and browse in the winter. Salt and mineral deposits provide essential dietary supplements.

REPRODUCTION: Breeding season extends from October through December. The gestation period is about six to six and a half months. Generally, the female gives birth to one lamb. At birth, lambs weigh about six to seven pounds each.

LIFE SPAN: About 10 years

BEHAVIOR: Bighorn are gregarious animals that stay in herds of 10-25 animals. Mature rams stay in bachelor herds except during the breeding season. Ewes, lambs and juvenile males form a separate herd. Mature males compete in butting jousts to determine dominance or social status. These bouts can occur any time but are more prevalent during the rut as the rams rejoin the ewe bands. Two rivals will face each other at a distance, rear on their hind legs, drop to all fours, converge and finally slam together head-on to produce a loud crack. Their specially adapted skulls and neck tendons and vertebre prevent serious injury.

NAMES: adult male - ram; adult female - ewe; baby - lamb; group - herd or flock
