At the south end of Preston Station Platforms 3 and 4 are two canopies for shelter at the bays. They have been there as long as I can remember, but I have always found them interesting as the design looks "modern" (post WW1) yet they are built with wood supports.

Taken from a slide processed in February 1984 we have an evening shot of Class 85 85036 at Preston.

The loco was new from Doncaster Works as E3091 in September 1963 and also briefly carried the number 85110. Withdrawl was in October 1991 (must be one of the last) and cutting up at MC Metals in Springburn in October 1992.

Ok wasn't going to post more than one haybale shot this year but found this location near Preston Mill with the old Docoot and thought it was a bit different. Had to clone out some telegraph wires in this image.

Good news for me on the camera front as it is a write off for both lens and camera so don't need to wait for an estimate. As the lens hit the ground first it has twisted the body and mount.
