this past Friday my husband took off from work and we took the ferry to Shelter Island where they have this wonderful nature preserve called Mashomack... the weather was perfect and we actually walked 7 miles and without a complaint...
We didn't really see any wildlife, but had the best day and would love to go back in the fall!!

Note: The exif says Zeiss Batis 2.8/18 because that's the last lens with an electronic connection I used on the camera. The photo was actually taken with Nikkor's 20mm f/3.5 UD. Less contrast than the Zeiss and no autofocus, but an excellent and affordable old lens.

Preserved DLA33 at Tonbridge Station before doing a few rounders to Sevenoaks as part of a local running day.

It’s all original inside and was an enjoyable ride.

Lots of birds were feeding in the shallow water by the shore, so I was able to capture many birds as my husband rowed into the Back Bay in Newport Beach.

Property on the Hammonasett River was donated to the Madison Conservation Land Trust by Fred and Rosa Rettich in 2014. Fred’s father and mother, Frank and Anna, purchased the land in 1906, after emigrating from Germany. For over 100 years the property was a single family working farm. Fred and Rosa kept a garden, fruit trees, grapes, chickens, and a few milk cows. They had a large hay field. Over the years, they added various structures, including corn cribs, a cow shed, and chicken coops. The Rettichs didn’t want their beautiful, riverside farm to be broken up by developers. It was their vision to preserve the land as open space.

Crystal Springs Preserve is in Zephyrhills, FL. It was once open to the public to visit but has had entry restricted to groups and booked events for some time in order to preserve the spring and grounds. In addition to the namesake springs group, the preserve features an enjoyable boardwalk and views of the Hillsborough River.
