On May 30th, 2013, the annual Memorial Day service was held at the Memorial Bridge Plaza, Delaware Memorial Bridge in New Castle. It was hosted by the Delaware Commission of Veterans Affairs and La Societe 40&8.
Lt. Governor Denn shared a touching story of a United States Army Medic, Cody Floyd. Cody is a hero who put his life on the line in a harrowing attempt to save a friend and Army brother, Stephen Mace, at Outpost Keating in Afghanistan. Though Stephen Mace passed at the age of 21 years during that battle, his sacrifices are remembered and honored at events such as this, and everyday we thank our fellow veterans for their service.

On Saturday 2nd July we held an open day for young people aged 16-19 who were interested to join our Journeys Youth Project.
(Journeys is a youth volunteering scheme (part of Stories of the World) that aims to support young people to develop their skills in a variety of areas, including project management and delivery of public events.)
The day was a great success, bringing together a fabulous mix young people from diverse communities, all with a variety of intentions for getting involved. Much fun was had throughout the day as the young people explored the Museum, taking part in activities which challenged their perceptions of the Museum as well as drew on their creativity and problem solving skills.
