My son's preschool class art project. Each did a self portrait on 5x7canvas, then we mounted all together.

Her transition from the toddler room to full preschool is going really well. I am so very proud of my big girl.

Was good to be back in schools after a bit of a quarantine, this time to see the youngest students in Des Moines begin preschool. These photos were taken at the Mitchell Early Education Center on the city's south side.

I tried cutting the hot dog into an octopus, but my son would have none of it. He took one look and said, "Why did you do that??" Little chunks it is, then...

Love those chunky colored pencils they have!!

I made this for my third daughter's graduation from our church's preschool. Sniff, sniff. Starting elementary school in the fall. The top was styrofoam. That was **supposed** to be a worm coming out of the apple, but it's kinda lost in translation :(

Two SB26s in softboxes left and right one is one foot from the subject, the other is two feet. SB900 used as hairlight AND background stand. I have it on a 7 foot stand peaking over the top of the Botero 023 background and pointed down at subject. I flagged it with a 6-inch plastic square that I velcro to the top of the flash to prevent a flare in the lens. SB600 with blue gel directly behind the subject and a foot lower than their head pointed at background. I use an adjustable drum seat with a piece of wood and a black cloth as the book table. I raise and lower it depending on the size of the child. I also use a squeaky toy and duck nose to get their attention and create a natural smile. Never say 'cheese' !!

We've seen Julie learn so many things thanks to her attending preschool all year. It went by quickly, but she's all set for kindergarten.
