Few can bring the warmth
We can find in their embrace,
And little more is needed to bring love
Than the smile on their face.
They have a supply of precious stories
And the time to wipe our tears
or give us reasons to make us laugh
And they grow more precious through the years
I believe that God sent us grandparents,
As our legacy from above.
To share the moments of our lives,
As extra measures of his love.
Our Preprimary Section celebrated Grandparents Day.

The tiny tots of our Preprimary section had a Blue and Pink Day in school. The scenario in the Jodhpur Campus was mesmerising. It was as though one has walked into a dream.
The children came dressed in these two colours. Usually blue is for boys and pink for girls and the children adhered to this. They played with items that had shades of blue and pink. There were pink umbrellas and blue fishes, pink dolls and blue guitars, blue and pink decorations and large balls to play with. The difficult part was eating food items that are found naturally in these two colours. Apart from learning about these two colours, they appreciated the presence of these colours in adding vibrancy to the surroundings. The goal of learning through fun was achieved well.

The event was hosted by senior teacher Mrs. Malobika Dutta and managed by Mrs. Jaksha Dixit. There was also a Panel Discussion involving the various section heads and teachers. The event winded up with an Awards Ceremony in which various teaching and non-teaching staff were given recognition for their work at Udgam. A sumptuous lunch spread followed the event.
Thuds of the ball to record the maximum number of bounces, bells to keep the participants of Musical Chair on their toes and joyous screams as the rope of Tug of War finally declared the winning side, heralded the morning at Udgam School. These were just some of the activities which were going on in Senior School along with Dumb Charades, Guessing Games and plenty more. If the Seniors were having fun, the children of Middle School were not far behind in games with Hop Skotch, Dog and Bone, Tug of War and other indigenised traditional games. The children of senior classes demonstrated to their younger friends through presentations and posters about the relevance of Children’s Day, about Pandit Nehru, his childhood and achievements.
Primary School had activities throughout the day in all classes. These included classic and cartoon movies fully loaded with cupcakes and popcorn, speeches about the importance of the day, craft work, wish tree making, card making and sandwich making. One singular idea was writing about their partner (only positive qualities) and presenting it to him/her.
The juniormost section, Preprimary had an amazing time too. They had a Puppet show which the children thoroughly enjoyed. Then they had a’ visit’ from Chacha Nehru which was a good way to acquaint them with the great statesman on whose birth anniversary Children’s Day is celebrated. The child had a funfilled day which was over too soon.
The festival that binds together brothers and sisters was celebrated in our Preprimary Section by children of all classes.
This helped to nurture friendship among the children while fostering the significance of this day on the young minds.
The kids enjoyed the festivities and happily tied the strings of love.
