Continuing with my Crooked Creek theme as I work to clean out my photo backlog, I cam across these two shots that I had not posted from February of 2013.

I went back and looked at my original caption and found this,

"I had just about given up on getting any bird photos in the woods by the creek today when I came face to face with this male downy woodpecker pecking at this pesky pod. I couldn't believe my good fortune and immediately started firing off shots.

Since he wasn't terribly disturbed by me, I tried moving a little closer. I took two more shots before he decided I was too close and flew to a nearby tree. I then started photographing one of his buddies in another tree."

At the time, I had asked if anyone knew what kind of pod it was and a friend had replied that it looked like a Kentucky Coffee Tree. I had never heard of one before, but after an internet search, I found that I do live in their natural range. I still don't know whether this is one for sure.

The royal danish navy had 500 years anniversary last year, and there were a lot of visitors from other navy's from Europe in Copenhagen harbor. This is an Italian school ship, can´t remember the name of it, and it was leaving danish waters 10 min after i took this picture.
