I FINALLY deboxed this Rengoku. I preordered him in December 2021, he was shipped to me in October 2023 and sat in his box until today (August 2024)! He's definitely my favourite Rengoku figure in my collection to date.
Carpark (2017)
I have been eagerly anticipating this new Cloud Nothings record for quite some time. Their last, 2015's Here and Nowhere Else, completely took me by surprise and ended up my most played album of that year by a pretty significant margin. It was without hesitation that I preordered Life Without Sound the day it came out. Though I apparently hesitated long enough to have missed the green vinyl version for sale on its own. I ended up having to buy a bundle with a T-shirt. Unfortunately, the T-shirt was white. I hate white band shirts. Then to add insult to injury, the label restocked the colored vinyl version on its own the next day. At least the album is great.
Life Without Sound is definitely a change for Cloud Nothings. As a whole it's a little bit mellower, lacking some of the really passionate shouting moments of Here and Nowhere Else. But the songwriting and hooks are every bit as strong. As soon as you hit the second track, "Things Are Right With You" you're drawn in to the vocal melody and the always building guitar riffs. It's one of the best songs on the album and can hold its own against anything Cloud Nothings have released.
The entirety of the album is just packed with great songs. There are moments that remind me a bit of Idlewild, but we're talking about a thousand times better than the very best Idlewild song that was ever written. Still as a touchstone for a comparison, you could do worst. The thing I'll say most about this album is that for me it was a grower. It didn't blast me out of my chair like Here and Nowhere Else. Life Without Sound gradually took hold of me with each listen and once it clicked, I was all in.

Although Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is one of my favorite films of all time...truth be told, the baby turtle and splinter pre mutation is the only part of the movie I find ridiculous and don’t like at all. Ok. I love pokemon. Yes. I preordered HeartGold and I plan on preordering Black or White when the time comes. If our military had actual pokemon, this "war" would be over.
I just got this vinyl in the mail, and I'm so ecstatic. It's by Tom Milsom and if you haven't heard it yet, you should go check it out! He also sent a drawing with each pre-ordered vinyl and mine is of a spinning top with pepsi cola.

Finally! Another preorder campaign from Play Interactive and this time, the game is Silent Hill: Homecoming.
I'm awfully excited about this game and preordered immediately when I found out about it.

Dinner at Hotel Abashirikoso. We had preordered two kani-gozen and two menme-zukushi meals when making the hotel reservation.
I couldn't help myself I'm impatient! I preordered on iTunes so it's cool. Although half of this album was released as Good Friday tracks and or leaked early it's freakin beautiful when you listen to all of it together, especially with some good headphones on so much is going on in the background. Easily a contender for best rap album category at all the award shows.
Only two Blythe's this year. Such restraint. And I sold 2!

My day was pretty blah but i was excited to come home and find in my mailbox my two tongues stuff i preordered, it came early! (only by a day though hehe). Got a cd and t-shirt, which i will wear... when it gets warm next! haha yayy.
So interesting story about this figure. This is actually an older release - I mean, most of them are by the time they get to me - but in this instance I mean it was clearanced on Black Friday, but I actually preordered it when it was first annouced.
It's just that for whatever reason, over a year later my selected Canadian retailer still had not gotten it yet. So I ended up cancelling and ordering the figure from Bandai directly for like half the price.
Win-win?
The details escape me now, but there were two versions of this figure announced, with this being the Deluxe version. I believe it had to do with some stickers and the postcard.
This is also my first Blitzway product and I have to say they're pretty good from an end product perspective. I've never seen any other company, especially one making figures at this size/price point, actually put a plastic baggie over each individual hand.
Now THAT'S quality concerns.
While this figure isn't really about the articulation, Waldo (or Wally) features some decent articulation. He's no Black Widow, but he can at least keep up with your action figure, albeit one with no waist.
The finished product is, as mentioned, quite clean. It's very simple by comparison to other figures that I've purchased, No issues with regards to blemishes or poor paint. The host of accessories are well done.
At the end of the day, chances are unless you're a fan of Where's Waldo/Wally, you're probably going to skip this. It doesn't come from any exciting franchises, and it's really not a figure that fits into most peoples collection.
But it IS a refreshing change of pace. So if you're looking for something like that, look no further, though you might want to wait for another sale.
