As I said folks it was a feast this day with the Meadowlarks, and we were very thankful. Have a great and safe Saturday and a wonderful weekend.
This Trumpeter Swan has been a visitor to the lake since early December.
A friend called me (not knowing that I was in Colorado) to frantically inform me that this beautiful bird had landed at the lake. For months, many of us had watched and photographed her feverishly feed and sleep, however any prefight photos eluded me.
On Saturday, as I wallowed my hours away at the lake, the swan spent the morning feeding then preceded to take a long nap. Several hours later, awoken by the sounds of a loud vehicle, I knew that the swan was going to fly, and sure enough, after several minutes of looking around, left and right, and up and down, off she went. It took 46 frames to get her into flight. ( I counted)
I can only assume that she will be migrating back to wherever she came from. However, I do hope she will return next year, or maybe she will decide to stay.
One never knows.

This is the clash that began their heated rivalry, which led to two brutal kickboxing fights (FFV129 / FFV133), as Kat wanted to hit and kick Sammie after this fight, and not just grapple. We knew from the prefight tension that this would be intense. The two run at each other at the start and clash violently for two falls, until one gets her leg caught in the ropes and has to angrily stop with a leg injury. Enough tension that we could not do a post fight interview. Special price on this short, intense battle. Both look incredible in their outfits. And do not like each other.

I got to shoot this at the Alea casino in Nottingham back in 2007 where Robin Reid and Carl gave each other the usual prefight windup chat.
Despite being surrounded by a bunch of pro shooters I got my turn for Robin and Carl to look into my lens. Fun times.
Wiki says of that fight, "On the 9 November 2007 at the Nottingham arena he (Carl) stopped veteran ex-world champion Robin Reid, after which Reid retired."

The whole boxing world will have its eyes set on the MGM Grand in Las Vegas on Saturday night, when pound-for-pound king Floyd Mayweather meets Marcos Maidana in a hotly anticipated welterweight rematch.
-As of 6:25 p.m. ET (3:25 p.m. PT) they were still awaiting Mayweather’s arrival.
-At approximately 6:30 p.m. ET (3:30 p.m. PT) Floyd had arrived driving one of his many Bugattis. Two more of his Bugattis were being driven behind him.
-6:35 p.m. ET (3:35 p.m. PT) Floyd giving media interviews.
-6:50 p.m. ET (3:50 p.m. PT) Floyd dishes on 50 Cent, Warren Buffet, the shooting and protests in Ferguson and more.
Usually, these final prefight press conferences are a last chance for Floyd Mayweather to stare into the eyes of his opponent, and perhaps play a few mind games just days before they step into the ring.
Except today there will be a familiar face on the other side of the dais, and Marcos Maidana already has experienced Mayweather's act.
The final press conference for Mayweather-Maidana II is slated for 4 p.m. ET (1 p.m. PT) at MGM Grand. Each fighter and their respective camp will address the media in advance of Saturday's pay-per-view showdown.

Two Black-faced Impala bucks face off in eastern Etosha National Park in Namibia.
The Black-Faced Impala is a sub-species of the Common Impala. It can be recognised by its larger size and black face markings. Between 1968-1971 310 individuals were transferred to Etosha National Park for protection. The population has increased but still numbers less than 1000.
Following a report published in 2008 the Black-Faced Impala was listed as Vunerable in the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species. Version 2015.
