Dungeness Lighthouse on the Dungeness Headland started operation on 20 November 1961. Its construction was prompted by the building of Dungeness nuclear power station, which obscured the light of its predecessor (dating from 1904) which, though decommissioned, remains standing. The new lighthouse (the fifth on the site) is constructed of precast concrete rings; its pattern of black and white bands is impregnated into the concrete. It remains in use today, monitored and controlled from the Trinity House Operations and Planning Centre at Harwich, Essex.[3]

The upper floors are clad in precast concrete panels in a classic unfinished grey. The window surrounds protrude slightly and the glass is highly reflective with a copper hue. These elements all combine well to give that space age as envisaged in the 70s look.

Description: For the past couple of months, every time I’ve driven past the Stellenbosch exit from the N1 freeway, I’ve noticed this field full of precast concrete structures. Yesterday afternoon, I decided that it was about time that I checked them out from up close… through my Sigma 10-20mm lens!
While walking around and looking for interesting compositions, I couldn’t help thinking that they looked like a platoon of soldiers, all lined up and standing to attention… so much so that when I’d finished taking my photographs, I muttered aloud… “squad, stand at ease”!

Tallington Tarmac’s 0-6-0 diesel hydraulic gets to grips with a rake of FCA wagons conveying precast sections for the London ‘Super Sewer’. The loco seems to be Thomas Hill 290V of 1980, rebuilt by the Hunslet Engine Co. in 2012 as 9382. Two rakes will make up 6O26, 2302 Tallington - Grain. Sadly the contract has nearly been fulfilled. The friendly crew said only a few more trains will run, and the works will close.

The Universitet metro station is one of the 5 stations that were the first to open in the Kiev metro. Thanks to its interesting architectural design, the station is rightfully considered the hallmark of the entire first stage and one of the symbols of the metro.
The ground lobby is a building with a square plan, covered with a dome made of precast reinforced concrete. It is adjoined on both sides by short colonnades, forming the entrance to the Botanical Garden. Academician A.V. Fomin.
