* Combarro es una parroquia del municipio de Poyo, en la provincia gallega de Pontevedra (España).
* Hasta principios del siglo XX constituía un municipio independiente. Es un pueblo marinero, cercano tanto a la capital de provincia, Pontevedra (7 km), como a otros pueblos reconocidos como Sangenjo.
Lo más destacable es su zona vieja, donde se halla una gran cantidad de hórreos y cruceros, además de la iglesia parroquial.
Está declarado bien de interés cultural como Conjunto Histórico y como Sitio Histórico.

The Eastern Sierra and the Owens Valley covered in fresh snow is a thing of beauty. This spot is located near the vista lookout on Highway 395. It's a great spot to watch the sunrise and drink your hot cocoa.
During the spring snowmelt, you can hear this raging waterfall all the way back at the first campground, but during fall, it's as quiet as a mouse.
This year was beautifully peaceful and quiet. I got to this spot early just so I cloud sit by the waterfall and spend some time in thought.

These waterfalls are absolutely beautiful during the autumn season and well worth the trip up the hill.

This is the calm before all the fall colours arrive in two weeks. North Lake has been calm since USFS closed down The Inyo National Forest because of the CA wildfires. Hopefully it will open back up, before all the fall colours are gone. With the creek fire not being contained much, this area will probably be closed for weeks :(

The Thumb is part of the greater Palisades subrange and is one of several 13K peaks that sit on the High Sierra crest between the two 14teeners Split Mountain to the south and Middle Palisade to the north. The first credited ascent and the naming of the Thumb was by Windsor B, Putnam in Dec 1921. The Thumb is one of the 248 list peaks designated by the Sierra Peaks Section of the Sierra Club Angeles Chapter. As the Thumb lies on the Sierra Crest between two trailheads, it is relatively easy to climb. The Thumb offers unparalleled views of Middle Palisade, Norman Clyde, and Sill.

An hórreo is a typical granary from the northwest of the Iberian Peninsula (mainly Galicia, where it might be called a Galician granary, Asturias and Northern Portugal), built in wood or stone, raised from the ground (to keep rodents out) by pillars ending in flat staddle stones to prevent access by rodents. Ventilation is allowed by the slits in its walls.

El hórreo gallego es un tipo específico de hórreo de Galicia, una construcción de uso agrícola destinada a secar, curar y guardar el maíz y otros cereales antes de desgranarlos y molerlos. Consta de una cámara de almacenaje oblonga, estrecha y permeable al paso del aire, separada del suelo para evitar la entrada de humedad y animales.
En Galicia conviven tres tipologías básicas de hórreo: el tipo gallego (también llamado «gallego-portugués»), el tipo asturiano y el hórreo de varas, menos elaborado y que comprende pequeños graneros portátiles ligeros, hechos de materiales vegetales. En el nordeste de Galicia y en el occidente de Asturias es fácil encontrar hórreos del tipo gallego y del tipo asturiano en el mismo lugar, aunque con diferente denominación.
El origen del término hórreo nos remite al latín horreum, que designaba a un edificio en el que se guardaban frutos del campo, especialmente el grano. La primera representación gráfica de un hórreo nos remonta hasta el siglo XIII, en las Cantigas de Santa María, atribuidas a Alfonso X el Sabio.
En 1973 se aprobó un Decreto de protección por parte del estado español de todos los hórreos y cabazos antiguos existentes en Galicia y Asturias, que intentaba atajar las consecuencias del abandono del modo de vida rural y la pérdida de uso de los hórreos. Alguno de los hórreos gallegos tienen la consideración de Monumento histórico-artístico, como el de la rectoral de Santa Comba de Carnota, construido en 1768, o la agrupación de hórreos de Combarro.
El hórreo más largo de Galicia es el de Araño (Rianjo) con 37,05 m de longitud, el más alto se eleva hasta los ocho metros y medio, la hórrea de mayor capacidad se encuentra en Poyo, tiene un volumen interior de 123,25 m³ y se sostiene sobre 51 pies, y aunque tradicionalmente son de planta rectangular, existen hórreos cuadrados, redondos, en forma de ele y hasta uno octogonal, en Fonsagrada. Se calcula que en 2004 había en torno a 30 000 hórreos, aunque su número decrece con rapidez.

Selon la croyance Toraja (appeléAluk Todolo), toute personne qui est décédée entrera au Poyo, le royaume où tous les esprits se rassemblent. Cependant, ils ne peuvent entrer au Poyo que quand ils ont passé toutes les cérémonies funéraires indiquées en fonction de leur statut social. Par conséquent, le Tau-tau doit être fait de matériaux qui sont adaptés à la situation sociale de la personne décédée. Faute de quoi, l'esprit erra entre deux mondes. Ceci est la raison pour laquelle la tenue de la cérémonie funéraire ainsi que la création du Tau-tau pour le défunt sont cruciaux dans le cycle de vie de chaque Toraja. Pour ceux d'un statut social inférieur, le Tau-tau peutêtre faite de bambou, tandis que pour les Tau-tau de la classe moyenne sont faits de bois de santal ou de bois Randu; alors que pour la classe la plus élevée, le matériau utilisé pour le Tau-tau est fabriqué à partir de l'arbre du jacquier. According to Toraja belief (called Aluk Todolo), anyone who has died will enter the Poyo, the realm where all spirits gather. However, they can only enter the Poyo when they have passed all the funeral ceremonies indicated according to their social status. Therefore, the Tau-tau must be made of materials that are appropriate to the social status of the deceased. Otherwise, the spirit will wander between two worlds. This is why the holding of the funeral ceremony and the creation of the Tau-tau for the deceased are crucial in the life cycle of every Toraja. For those of a lower social status, the Tau-tau may be made of bamboo, while for the middle class Tau-tau are made of sandalwood or Randu wood; while for the highest class, the material used for the Tau-tau is made from the jackfruit tree. In addition, buffalo horn or bone is often used for eyeballs. The male Tau-tau often wears a sarong, while the female Tau-tau is dressed in the traditional 'kebaya'. The Torajas believe that the spirit of the dead enters the Tau-tau and lives on, thus maintaining the essential link between the dead and the living.
