This series has taken over -- I'm powerless and have to post.
I liked the textures in the foreground trees as well.

Jahreswechsel
Es geht ein Jahr
die Zeit
sie wandelt ihr Gesicht
Jetzt schon ganz nah
was kommt
Wir kennen es noch nicht
kann Freude sein
und Leid
doch Hoffnung überwiegt
seh Glück ich in den Augen dein
und Freud
die über alles siegt.

Tränenpalast, Berlin
"The building constructed in 1962 at Friedrichstraße train station in Berlin – known colloquially as the "Tränenpalast" or "Palace of Tears" – served the GDR dictatorship until 1990 as a departure terminal for people leaving the GDR for West Berlin. Like no other location, the pavilion serves as a reminder of the partition of Germany and of all the fates connected with it. Many individuals were forced to say goodbye to friends and relatives here. East Germans were painfully reminded time and again that the border was closed to them, while many others found themselves powerless in the face of bullying border guards..."

The sea reminds me of my finiteness, limitations, minuteness and powerlessness, because the sea is none of these.

I took this in Deep Cove while out shooting with a Flickr friend on Friday. Someone had created a group of rock sculptures next to the water and I thought they were very picturesque against the still blue water.

"Animals are more than ever a test of our character, of mankind's capacity for empathy and for decent, honorable conduct and faithful stewardship. We are called to treat them with kindness, not because they have rights or power or some claim to equality, but in a sense because they don't; because they all stand unequal and powerless before us." ― Matthew Scully

So many years I stood among the thoughts
and tears of those I served.
Among my own I was alone through my own doing.
All the years I walked unknown
behind the faces I assumed.
Powerless to clear your mind of what you'd suffered.
They fall again.
They fall again.
I'd only come here seeking peace.
I'd only come here seeking me.
It seems I came to leave.

The buffet must have some better food this week because the customers are more a plenty, hehe. They have bloomed now by the way. More images to come. :)
"(...) In the space between our cities, a storm is slowly forming
Something eating up our days, I feed it every morning
Destination, destination
It's not a religion, it's just a technique
It's just a way of making you speak
(When) distance and speed have left us too weak
And destination looks kind of bleak
Our elements are burned out, our beasts have been mistreated
I tell you it's the only way we'll get this road completed
In the space between our bodies the air has grown small fingers
Just one caress, you're powerless, like all those clapped-out swingers
Destination, destination"

If we hate someone, we hate something in his image, which sits in ourselves. What is not in ourselves, this excited us not.
Wenn wir einen Menschen hassen, so hassen wir in seinem Bild etwas, was in uns selber sitzt. Was nicht in uns selber ist, das regt uns nicht auf.

The psychoanalyst Erich Fromm distinguishes between two types of hate:
Reactive Hate
It is always the result of a deep injury or a painful situation, it is powerless against, because they can not change on their own. Erich Fromm writes: "In reactive hate I mean a response that due to an attack on my life, my safety, my ideals, or to another person, whom I love and with whom I am identified.
Reactive hatred always presupposes that someone has a positive outlook on life to other people and ideals. Who is strong life-affirming, will react accordingly if his life is threatened."

FIRST THEY CAME – BY PASTOR MARTIN NIEMÖLLER
First they came for the Communists
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a Communist
Then they came for the Socialists
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a Socialist
Then they came for the trade unionists
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a trade unionist
Then they came for the Jews
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a Jew
Then they came for me
And there was no one left
To speak out for me

An early wintermorning this January at Bjorli, Norway. Temperatures were below zero by 24 C and the sun was bleak and powerless. HM King Winter reigned supreme.
Thanks very much for your interest, fav or time to comment ! - I wish you and yours a harmonious and inspired new year !!!
Most of the viewers of the three pictures in this series so far will have an idea of the motivation behind their creation. - Of course ... it is a feeling of powerlessness - in the face of the excessive handling of humanity with its only home: the earth. - I think, especially among photographers it is not necessary to go into detail. But if I am wrong, just looking at the environmental catastrophes owing to rising damage reports in the insurance industry is enough.
The pictures should not bring insects or spiders into disrepute. The motives are only symbolic of the many self-inflicted catastrophes, of which the species extinction is only one of many. - The idea for its creation is already months ago. But it was the expected amount of time that kept getting in the way of a start. - It is expected that there will be more in this series, but not in the short term.
Amongst some things that I have barely had any focus on in recent months is the production of my own musical ideas. Since this will change immediately, the number of less time-consuming image publications will probably thin out for some time.
Three strong oxen were living in the bush. one red, white and black. One day a lion came upon them and wondered how he might eat the three oxen. The lion realized that he could not attack all the three oxen at the same time . He made a plan to divide them and eat them one by one.
The lion came to the red & black oxen and told them that the white ox was spoiling the bush where they lived. He suggested that the white ox should be killed in order to save the environment. Unknowingly the two oxen thought that the lion was right and allowed him to kill and eat the white ox.
After few days, the lion again came to the red ox and told him that the black ox was arrogant and was intending to kill him (the red ox). The lion suggested that he should protect the life of the red ox by killing the black ox. The red ox agreed the lion’s plan and killed the black ox.
After few days the lion came to the red ox and said, “It is now your time to die.”
The red ox now understood the planned trick of the lion, but was powerless .
The red ox said to the lion,
“You killed me when you killed the white ox.”
"We play the same keys in different times
It's in our nature to die
Powerless to the forces outside of our reach
I'm nothing but a man within a dream".
