Hi friends, here is my newest photo editing video! In this video, you can clearly see the advancement of the photo "Keeping" through the editing process. A lot of you wonder how much editing goes into my work and how I do it, so here, I tried to show the process with a lot of fun.

A bit of fun with my video editing program, Cyberlink PowerDirector.
All clips recorded handheld using the Panasonic S5 and SMC Pentax-A 50mm f1.4 manual focus lens.
This is comprised of 589 images, each 3 seconds long, compiled into a video.
The second part is compiled from the same images, but I used the StarStax app to produce the images, with an added comet like trail. These were all compiled into a video with Photoshop.
The rest of the video was completed with Cyberlinks Power director.
I started the sequence shortly after the sun had set.
I paced 1 light on the fence to the far left at 5% brightness and set to 5300k and another, on a fence post to the far right, set at the same temp and brightness.
It seems like an Owl got in on the act, on the roof to the right, early in the process.

PS Due to some logistics challenges, I had to use the terrible user experience of Cyberlink PowerDirector to straighten the horizon of the original Nikon D850 sunset timelapse video. Unfortunately, that turned the video into a mushy 720 resolution video, which I then added music and titles to in my many-years old iMovie program on the MacBook Pro.

I am no expert movie maker, by a long shot, but I am having a lot of fun making these Drone videos.
I used Cyberlink's Power Director to compile this video and a ground shot, of the sun, thrown in from my Nikon DSLR.

Creating this little video while playing around with PhotoStudio and PowerDirector has given new life to some photos of past LEGO mocs of mine.

Just a bit of fun with animation. (50 seconds)
The background of ancient Baobab trees was created with Adobe Firefly.
All the animated characters created with Microsoft Powerpoint 3D stock.
The two plant 3D figures I placed on top of the ancient trees scene then saved that as a video file.
I then put the dinosaur 3D animals onto that video on separate track layers and had them move left to right with keyframes.
The last Pterodactyl I had fly behind the Baobab tree. I got this effect by masking the trunk of that tree and placing it just above the layer with the Pterodactyl.
This gave the appearance of it flying behind the tree.
The second dinosaur is a bit slippery on his feet.
All put together with Powerdirector.

The titles and transitions were added in 'CyberLink PowerDirector 14' which was available as a free download from one of the recent monthly UK photo magazines.
A crazy video just for no reason
This is a large solid glass ball with sort of bubbles embedded throughout the ball. It is sitting on top of a little glass stand.
It has a power lead that lights up a light in the base that continuously cycles through different colours (RGB). These colours shine up into the inside of the galss ball.
I placed this whole thing on a powered turntable.
As the turntable rotates the power lead is being wrapped around the little stand .
I placed a light on the floor shining up over the white curtains behind. This light is a variable temperature/colour/intensity light.
I set it to blue at 100% intensity
I first took a short clip completely out of focus to get the bokeh effect of the lights then a normal focused clip to fade into.
all shot at 1280x720 at 60 Fps with 105mm macro lens.
On a Joby Gorillapod on the kitchen table.
I found this galss ball in a secondhand shop in Mannum about 5 years ago.
This is a single short video clip from a Insta 360 X3 camera.
The ornaments are made from nuts and bolts and washers.
They are sitting on a motorized turntable with a beach scene on top, It is sitting on the dining room table and it is turning anticlockwise.
In the middle of the ornaments I placed the 360 camera standing on its end and recording at 60fps. It is turning the same as with the turntable and the ornaments.
In post, with a few key frames, I edited the 360 footage to rotate the opposite way after a few seconds. The turntable is still turning the same way.
I then keyframed the footage to look up and turn into a sphere, turn inside out then spin around a few times.
I used Insta 360 Studio for the 360 video and the title and endings are added with a different video editor.

I had fun around Birmingham making a time-lapse, the new library is amazing I have to go back to shoot the sunset from the roof. I used Powerdirector 12 to edit the shots and Fruity Loops to compose the music.
Meandering ride along the Lade Braes here in St Andrews back in, I think, May of this year. Shot on a helmet mounted GoPro @ 4K with an ambitious bitrate, made a rather large final file. Much too big for Flickr's limited allowance. So for Flickr I've redone it with slashed video/audio bitrates to keep the file size modest. May have overdone it! Never mind, it's not a contest.
Hope you like it? Here's a link to the full scale version on Vimeo, which is a better platform for showing full res. videos - only thing is, likely views-exposure is - limited. (Same F11 gives full screen view.)
The same full bitrate version uploaded to You Tube was full of stutters for no good reason I could find, a reloading of it didn't improve matters. The same file as Vimeo manages to show without any similar issues.

Zorie has learned gymnastics since we were back from our trip to Japan. She is always looking forward to going to her gymnastic class though she has to get up earlier than usual. Zorie feels very happy when she is in class. I think it is the most important and wonderful thing for kids at her age to learn anything. Happy Zorie, Happy Daddy.
Just a bit of fun with Power Director and Power Point in the land of the giant toasters.
The 3D toaster models are free from within Power Point.
I animated them on top of a photo of mine with Hay bales.
I placed them at different distances and perspective.
I then adjusted the timing and angle of each of them.
With the 3D toaster behind the bale, I just placed a copy of the main track on the bottom layer and just masked an area where the bale is. This hides the actual toaster, so it looks as if it is behind the bale, and you only see the toast appear from behind the bale.
The toaster in the front left, I just placed the toaster part just off the screen, leaving the actual toast only visible.
Then I just added a few sound effects and music, from with Power Director, and Bobs your Uncle.
The landscape shot was shot under moonlight at Mt Barker South Australia. October 2023.

Here you will see the begining of my project. It is currently in an unfinished state. Some of the clips repeat just to get some length to it.
This movie was made with a Nikon D80 and 1-2 second exposures. The exposures were combined in Power Director at 15 frames per second. If you do the math thats 900 clicks to get a minute of video. Yea, thats alot of wear and tear on my DSLR but I think in the end it'll be worth it.

Wir gingen am Freitag mit dem Jahrgang Curling spielen und das habe ich als Videoidee genutzt.
Die Aufnahmen waren nicht so gut weil ich erst zuspät gemerkt habe das ich immer Hochformat aufgenommen habe ansonsten war das aufnehmen an sich noch lustig. Ich habe mit der App PowerDirector auf einem Android Gerät geschnitten den die ist sehr umfangreich und einfach gestaltet
Was ich an der App nicht so toll finde ist das dass "by PowerDirector" immer unten rechts steht.
