When a BN Mac comes to your area, it's a no brainer to shoot it. Here we see a North Antelope load destined for Kincaid on the I&M near Taylorville. In the background looms the now-closed since 2022 Edwards/Cilco generating station from across the Illinois River. This coal train will be staged south of town at NRG's Powerton generating station - served by the UP, but has really slowed down in recent times. Both Kincaid and Poweron are slated to cease operations around 2027.
Genus Morph is so cool and really versatile but can have a bit of a learning curve compared to EvoX and SLUV heads. If you're not sure where to start ALT3 have got you covered. They make fantastic makeup, skins and appliers for Genus. And for Lelutka, Kreep and much much more. Right now till October 20th you can use the code blow (just copy and paste) to get 30% off the great stuff ALT3 makes. Make the most of your head and more at ALT3.
This season code: FUGAZI01
The code can be used as many times as you would like, valid at the Mainstore Only, expiring October 20th. Save a bundle and get the look you want!

Snow is melting and it was nice sleeping in a warm house last night. Neighbors helped me dig out Lindsey’s car and it’s now parked at the top of the drive. A few more inches of snow expected late Thursday night. Trees that were lying against the house are slowly righting themselves, with no real damage to the house.
This is the best Mexican food in Arizona. Guayo's El Rey in Miami Arizona has been a family run restaurant since 1938 and a tradition in my family for just as long. I've been eating here for over 50 years. This is my favorite - Dinner #3 - taco, tamale and enchilada. With a frozen margarita. It comes on two plates because the plates are so hot. The chips and salsa are home-made - not commercial. Two varieties of salsa. I judge heavily by the quality of the Tamale. Tamales should be a source of pride. And the fact that they don't load up with rice and bean filler. This is on Sullivan Street north of Hostetler pool and just east of the Catholic Church.
After a tough week working in the mines, the miners would bring their families here for a night on the town.
I don't know why they bother with the straw in the Margarita. The ice plugs it up. But without the straw you get a brainfreeze if you drink it too fast. :)
{edited} In all fairness - so you can judge my tastes in Mexican Food - here are some other restaurants that I think are in the competition:
Chalo's in Globe
Sylvia's La Canasta N. 7th Ave in Phoenix
Carolina's on 12th St & Mohave in Phoenix
La Canasta on 7th Ave south of the Bridge in Phoenix
Tee Pee Tap Room on E. Indian School & 42nd St in Phoenix
Casa Molina in Tucson.
{end edit}
{edit} jcwadeaz nominates Rosa's on Campbell in Tucson
cobalt123 nominates Guayos "On the Trail" north of Claypool and Micha's in Tucson on 4th Ave around 36th St.
ms phoenix recommends Capitolio Canasta's on Van Buren (just west of 15th Ave)....{end edit}
Just heard that Sal & Teresa's Mexican Restaurant in Show Low should be on the list. I'll have to get there and find out.
There's a new fancy place Barrio that gets good reviews. I haven't eaten there. Not really Sonoran from what I understand. For me in Arizona, it needs to be our sister state of Sonora. Especially washed down with a little Bacanora.
El mejor alimento mexicano en Arizona !!!

Note retro-style "747 Friend Ship U n i t e d * * * * " marking. Back in the day, United's original 747s sported red bars and blue stars on a white background. As expressive and optimistic as anyone could want. If it flew in the face of many challenges, well, many, perhaps most of us, believed we'd see those challenges off in our lifetimes. Somewhat optimistic, that.
United's segment at Fleet Week always has the best music, since they just play their (somewhat ADD edited) version of
"Rhapsody in Blue", by George Gershwin. The speaker gently describes the steady and regular progress that the Large Airliner du jur makes around the Bay There's a 'dirty" pass with flaps down and landing gear out, a clean pass at a good rate of speed (350 kt I think) Then a fare-well. Second best music and the only other announcer I could stand was a well-spoken Lieutenant from the US Navy.
Setup for waterfigures. The upper spreaker is the dropcontroller. This dropper give a second drop via an audio waveform on the speaker. Control of this timing via a second laser detector just under the dropper. Multiple flashes are used, 5 max for the forground, one for the background. Background can be changed via a colored A3 paper. Different tools can be added, a color injector stay more on the foreground and is controlled via a magnet drive system. This color injector can inject a few paint drops into a falling drop to merge and to form multiple gradiend colors on the splash. On the bottom a second speaker system is used for the waterfigures. Splashes and waterfigures and color injection can be merge together. On the leftside stay a projectiel tool to fire a small iron item through the falling droplet. Ofcourse all this parts are homemade including the hardware controller ( not to seen into this picture). The camera is the D200 nikon driven also by the controller. 2 lasers are used for detection to give the controller the information for all delay's and timings. All timings are digital at a resolution of 1 to 100 usec at 4 digit/ delay unit. Delays are entred via the keyboard but preset by poweron at the best default time. Some values are drive by 2 rotary encorders to change fast the value.
This plane is turning from the 28L taxiway to 28L or to continue on to 28R. The red-orange and brown-gray stuff at runway height on the right side of the frame are the approach lights (and radio navigation aid array?) for runway's 28L and 28R.
The Moffett NAS airshow/open house was always a good time in my estimation. Here we get an F-14 high speed pass, wings all folded, plane nearly knife-edge, racking around with quite a loud noise! This is the best of the F-14 pictures, and a clear tribute to the 50mm F/1.8 standard lens on the OM-1. This is profoundly enlarged, but you can make out the star on the front fuselage and a blob that's the 2 tailed lion marking on the tail.
An engineer monitors a Boeing CST-100 Starliner spacecraft inside Boeing's Commercial Crew and Cargo Processing Facility at NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida. This was the first time "Spacecraft 1," as the individual Starliner is known, was powered up. It is being assembled for use during a pad abort test that will demonstrate the Starliners' ability to lift astronauts out of danger in the unlikely event of an emergency. Later flight tests will demonstrate Starliners in orbital missions to the station without a crew, and then with astronauts aboard. The flight tests will preview the crew rotation missions future Starliners will perform as they take up to four astronauts at a time to the orbiting laboratory in order to enhance the research taking place there. From the little parking lot that seems to be all that's left of the old SJC Aero Lab and the grassy knoll at the corner of Coleman and the airport road. If I keep looking at my brother Ian's pictures, I may pick up some of his thoughtfulness.
Note underside beacon is on, and big access panel on port side (right, in this picture) is chromate green.
Note retro-style "747 Friend Ship U n i t e d * * * * " marking. This is probably the second cleanest image of it. Back in the day, United's original 747s sported red bars and blue stars on a white background. As expressive and optimistic as anyone could want.
I like that they went to the old font and used blue for the name and stars. Among fans, those 1960s United markings are "Stars and Bars" and they are of a piece with that intense decade.
I've heard it said that the merged Continental and United markings feature the "golden parachute" that various redundant executives used to exit the merged businesses...
I was standing at the North East most corner of the Bay Trail, at the North West end of the S. F. Airport Marriott Waterfront's parking lot. 100 meters or less East of the intersection of Old Bayshore Highway and Cowan Road.
