At the market around my corner when I was working and living at Hefei University. This market was definitely not a pet market, the birds were meant for being eaten.
Yes, I’m completely quackers!
Photo was taken back in February, some newer stuff soon, I just wanted to use the caption 😜
We are now both covid free, hurray, this week, we have mostly been on a business course, which if I’m being honest was absolutely useless and boring, it was difficult for me to sit at a desk for 7 hours a day for an entire week and behave. It was nice to get out and meet new people though, so not all bad.
Have a lovely Sunday, all.

Despite the ban on the sale of live poultry in Shanghai, many residents still consider freshly killed chickens and ducks to be more tasty. As a result, the sale of live poultry is often conducted in such an itinerant way.
A shot taken from One Poultry in London back in September, I took this as we were heading to Coq d'Argent which is situated at the top of this building.
The colour atrium windows are a big draw for photographers and you can get a decent abstract look up shot.

Decisions, decisions! This young eagle must choose from the menu: fresh fish or duck (no orange sauce, sorry!). He chose the fish dinner. Good choice.
The We're Here! gang is celebrating World Poultry Day today. Wait...did I read that wrong? :D
World Poultry Day
World Poultry Day
Is confusing, don't you see?
Are we meant to eat more chickens,
Or meant to set them free?

Having some fun today with George, who chose today's theme to celebrate World Poetry Day. George reads a poem for us every day, and has more than a thousand readings in his poetry set. Treat yourself with a visit to his brilliant readings here.
So if you wondering why the strange title, well that's the name of this new building at Bucklersbury Passage which I stumbled across whilst trying to find another one in London. Seemed odd to see such a blast of architectural colour amongst the rest of the city, but it works really well. Hope you're all having a great week - I still can't believe i've had a photo in Explore on a daily basis!DSC
The chickens seemed skittish today, less trusting, a wary gleam in their eyes as if birds all over America were on high alert. ..maybe it is just me. . .
Wandering about Brighton for the afternoon, I came across this street theatre / human art installation extolling the virtues of veganism by highlighting the cruelty entailed in stocking supermarkets with chicken.

TOTW - Freedom.
MSH - Chicken Run.
Egg concept unashamedly plagiarised from here. But it was so perfect for the TOTW theme of freedom that I had to borrow it.

Chicken is ready,,, the red part will pop-up when the poultry is cooked to a temperature of 180°. HMM!
The Poultry Cross is a market cross in Salisbury, Wiltshire, England, marking the site of former markets. Constructed in the 14th century and modified in the 18th century it stands at the junction of Silver Street and Minster Street. It has been designated by English Heritage as a Grade I listed structure.
The Poultry Cross is the only one remaining of four market crosses that once stood in Salisbury. The others were the Cheese Cross in the present Cheesemarket area, Barnard's Cross (livestock) at the junction of Barnard Street and Culver Street and another which designated a market for wool and yarn at the east end of the present Market Place near the War Memorial
The presence of a market cross on the Poultry Cross site dates to 1307 and the name to about a century later. The present stone structure was built in the late 15th century. The original flying buttresses were removed in 1711, as can be seen in the painting of 1800 by JMW Turner; the present buttresses date from 1852–4, when the upper parts of the cross were rebuilt to the designs of the architect Owen Browne Carter
While tending to our friend's animals, I snapped this before all the chickens went to the coop.
