Der Ruinenberg in Potsdam wurde 1748 gebaut mit künstlichen Ruinen als Gestaltungselement. Er diente zur Bewässerung der Fontänen im angrenzenden Schlosspark Sanssouci. Das Gebiet war ebenso Jagdgebeiet des Preußenkönigs Friedrich der Große.
Das Bild ist mit dem iPhone und einer Belichtungszeit von 3 Minuten gemacht, was sich in den Exifdaten nicht widerspiegelt.

The Ruinenberg in Potsdam was built in 1748 with artificial ruins as a design element. It was used to irrigate the fountains in the adjacent Sanssouci Palace Park. The area was also the hunting ground of the Prussian king Frederick the Great.
The picture is taken with the iPhone and an exposure time of 3 minutes, which is not reflected in the exif data.

Abandoned power plant. This power plant was driven by coal and provided electricity and district heating for Potsdam. In 1994 it was replaced by a modern gas driven cogeneration plant. At that time this was considered a small revolution as Brandenburg has got a long tradition of coal mining.
