Potato Head, beach club, Peti Tenget, Bali

Hello my amazing Flickr friends !

Today is a pink or purple day at Color my World Daily and the theme at Smile on Saturday is : show a single flower. And since it has been a very long time since we had an egg picture, how about showing a single flower by Mr. Egg… Of course, I can hear you loud and clear: eggs dont have hands so they can’t show you anything… I have to disagree. Just recently, Mr. Egg underwent a very, very complicated operation, never attempted in medical history before : a Mr. Potatohead hands transplant. It was a success my friends ! So today, Mr. Egg can show you a single flower and lets hope that all those single flowers pictures will put a smile on your face for the rest of the day. And just imagine all the possibilities, now that Mr. Egg has 2 hands ! And they are magnificent (and rather huge !!) !

Mucho, mucho amor for you all !! Have a beautiful day my friends!! See you later!!

Thank you so much for all your lovely comments / favs/ general support / happy thoughts!! Stay safe and well!! And see you soon on Flickr !

We had a fabulous Spring storm roll in on Saturday afternoon - the sky was extremely brilliant between the dark clouds. The winds were about 40 mph with pea sized hail! I had fun shooting and getting yelled at to get in before I got caught out there!

Here, Kato is showing you how brilliant the sunlight was - this shot is only cropped square - the rest is as shot. The shadow on his shoulder is an indication of how sharp and direct the sun was hitting.

If you light a lamp for somebody, it will also brighten your path.

@Keong Saik Road, Potato Head Singapore

Keong Saik Road was officially named in 1926 after Tan Keong Saik, a Malacca-born businessman who contributed much to the social and intellectual life of the Chinese community.

A co-founder of the Straits Steamship Company, he was elected to the municipal commission in 1886. Tan, who later became a justice of the peace, owned a number of houses in the vicinity of Keong Saik Road.

...And that is all.

P.S.

I found my remote the day after I misplaced it :-P

Location: Teck Lim Road at Keong Saik Street.

This building was built when I wasn't even born yet. It managed to survive through the course of history including the Japanese invasion of Singapore. On the right background is The Pinnacle at Tanjong Pagar, one of Singapore's tallest and most expensive place to own.

Teck Lim Road

Teck Lim Road is a one-way road linking Keong Saik Road to Neil Road in Chinatown within the Outram Planning Area of Singapore. The road is lined with conserved quaint shophouses and houses a number of budget hotels and F & B outlets. –Wikipedia

About Keong Saik Street

Once a famous Red Light (prostitution) district of Singapore the area has now been conserved and converted into an entertainment district in Chinatown. The prostitution business has since shifted over to Geylang where it is still popular for those looking for some pleasure.

Mama Potatohead takes a photo on her little spudling's first day of school.

I am not sure if I will be able to post tomorrow, so I thought I get a jump start tonight.

My desk at work use to be filled with Potato Heads; not so much anymore.

Thank you for all the comments, favorites, and views.

Kato Surveying his realm (the Kitchen) from a very desirable and warm location!

The famous triangular shaped building known as Tong Ah coffeehouse along Keong Saik road. This building was built in 1939 and it has been preseved since then.

Plus an apple, yam & radishes.

The exhibition was advertised as seeing Traditional Oaxacan* radish carving. It wasn't quite what we expected but it was free and we had a fun time watching the exhibitors turning their yams, potatoes, apples and radishes into ' things' :) It was our first visit to the Albuquerque Open Space Visitors Centre.

(Oaxacan radish carving is celebrated in Mexico during December to celebrate the Spanish bringing radishes to Mexico).

This triangular shophouse sits at the intersection of Keong Saik Road and Teck Lim Road, Chinatown. The space is now occupied by Potato Head.

Finally got out today to do some owling!

Long story short, I sold my cropped body nikon cause I fell in love with full frame sensor and fat pixels of the D700. I also sold my nikkor 300mm f/2.8 VRI because I didn't think I would be using it.. After a while without it, I started jonesing for that creamy 2.8 fast focusing beast! So today I bought another one, this time newer version 300mm f/2.8 VR II (I am a potatohead)!

Here is a female from today, check the exif on it, nice and sunny, shot at 1/6400th 200 ISO at 2.8 :)

More to come, a nice male too!

Minnie Spud likes how the yellow one goes with her shoes, while Mrs. Tater thinks that the purple one compliments her eyes.

Seminyak, Bali, Indonesia

The Balinese love kites. Every July, teams of competitors gather at Sanur to take part in the Bali Kite Festival. This photograph is from January 2014 and features a sail boat kite at nearby Seminyak beach, where it was being flown by a young boy. Whilst it differs from the three traditional kites flown during the festival (being the fish-shaped Bebean, the bird-shaped Janggan and the leaf-shaped Pecukan), there is a place for the ship-shaped kites in the 'New Creation’ or Kreasi Baru category.

Its almost time for spud to need his winter coats, I thought I better check to see if everything still fits.

Meet Moominfictum, the rarely seen and lesser known marine relative of the Moomin family. If you're very lucky you may just catch a glimpse of him hauled out on a wave cut platform partaking of his favourite hobby of chatting to lighthouses.
