I'm proud to present the Emiliacouture Spring 2021 ready to wear capsule collection: "Post Apocalypse".

The Post Apocalypse athleisure garments are all about movement and dancing around the apartment while no one is watching. This Issey Miyake inspired collection of lounge wear is made out of Japanese pleated cotton blend with PVC stripes. The soft and stiff stripes give the fabric a unique shapeability that is really fun to play around with.

All items are OOAK and fit most 16" dolls (photographed here on Inamorata 3.0). They are sold as mix-an-match items at my store:

This skylight sits in the inner circle the original James A. Farley Building. This area will be the main hall of the planned Moynihan Station.

The James A. Farley Building, New York City's General Post Office (Zip Code 10001), located at 421 Eighth Avenue and occupying eight acres across two full city blocks, consists of the old general post office building and its western annex. The Farley Post Office holds the distinction of being the only Post Office in New York City that is open to the public 24 hours/7 days a week.

The James A. Farley Building was constructed in two stages. The original monumental front half, boasting the longest giantr order Corinthian colonnade in the world, was built by William M. Kendall of McKim, Mead & White from 1908-1913 and opened for postal business as the Pennsylvania Terminal in 1914. The imposing design was meant to match in strength the colonnade of Pennsylvania Station that originally faced it across the avenue. An unbroken flight of steps the full length of the colonnade provides access, for the main floor devoted to customer services is above a functional basement level that rises out of a dry moat giving light and air to workspaces below. Each of the square end pavilions is capped with a low saucer dome, expressed on the exterior as a low stepped pyramid.

In July 1918, the building was renamed the General Post Office Building and was doubled in space in 1934 by James Farley, replacing the 1878 Post Office at Park Row and Broadway. In 1982, the building was renamed once more as the James A. Farley Building. Farley was the nation's 53rd Postmaster General and served from 1933 to 1940. As a candidate for the Democratic nomination for President of the United States in 1940, he was only the second Roman Catholic to receive delegates towards such a nomination after Alfred E. Smith. Farley also served as a campain manager to both Smith and Franklin D. Roosevelt, and is considered the finest Athletic Commissioner/Boxing Commissioner in New York State history.

The building prominently bears the inscription: "Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds." Commonly mistaken as an official motto of the United States Postal Service, it is actually taken from Herodotus' Histories (Book 8, Ch. 98) and describes the faithful service of the Persian system of mounted postal messengers under Xerxes I of Persia.

Moynihan Station, a planned train terminal, would expand Penn Station into the Farley Post Office Building. Plans for the expansion of the the busiest train station in the country, serving more than 550,000 daily passengers, the busiest train station in the country with more than 550,000 daily passengers. It has since gone through a portracted series of delays and redesigns over the years. Phase I of the current plan, "Moynihan Moving Forward", broke ground in 2010 and, with work occuring only on nights and weekends, is expected to be complete by 2016. The phase consists of mostly below-grade, transportation infrastructure improvements including the expansion of the Long Island Rail Road West End Concourse under the Farley building steps to serve Amtrak and New Jersey Transit platforms, new entrances through the Farley Building, and improved ventilation. The second phase includes a sky-lit grand hall with 1 million square feet of retail space. The Farley Building's facade will remain untouched, and it will retain retail postal lobby services . However, all mail processing operations will be relocated one block away to the Morgan Processing and Distribution Center.

I was approached by a film company because they wanted to use my Delica while shooting a short film set in the near future.

They asked me to make it look as 'Post Apocalyptic' as possible. I did my best!

Fliming took place in South London on an abandoned/dereclict housing estate. A massive place with 2000+ apartments all empty. Quite eery!

I took these shots just after filming had finished and the crew had gone home. It made for a nice setting.

My latest thought on life!...We always keep planning about the future, instead of enjoying the present. So isn't our life a huge post-it note?...

Perhaps too easy to guess but unexpected in a former Soviet Socialist Republic.

The Jay Heritage Center (JHC) hosted its annual Fall Family Festival on Sunday, September 23rd celebrating American culture and traditions. Highlights included costumed tours of the Jay Mansion along with activities for all ages.

The event was organized by JHC's Young Preservationists, a group of parents committed to the adaptive reuse of John Jay's landmark home as a community learning center for children and adults, a place furnished with lively ideas and people, not just furniture. The fresh vision of these volunteers had great resonance last year as over 800 people showed up to applaud their efforts while munching on crisp autumn apples and sipping cider. Activities included parents and kids painting pumpkins and coring apples. The Jay estate was once itself a working farm with plentiful crops and gardens. Farmer's market offerings of pumpkin muffins and homemade jams on hand thanks to Meredith's Bread from Kingston while sweet cravings were satisfied by frosty organic Go-Go Pops from Cold Spring Harbor.

The place was filled with butterflies - vivid butterfly painted faces and balloon animals to take home courtesy of James Daniels.

Bruce Macdonald of Ashwood Restoration opened up his preservation workshop and explained the challenges involved in restoring the mansion's front door. Visitors could also see our latest exhibit on NY Genealogy and found out if they were related to some of NY's Founding Families including the Stuyvesants, Van Cortlandts, Jays, and more!

And at the 1907 Carriage House, families participated in an archaeaolgy dig and saw a sustainable dollhouse. But many parents and grandparents were also just content to sit in wicker rockers on the veranda to watch their children play and drink in the unequalled view of New York State's oldest man-managed meadow a vista famously dubbed "a time funnel" to the past.

The event was part of the Hudson River Valley Ramble weekend which celebrates American heritage in New York State.

On NY State's Path Through History (2013)

This desk was once in an old brick general store in a part of West Caldwell then known as Franklin, near the current site of the town's fire department. It was used as a post office for the local farmers; they'd go to the store to send and collect mail.

The desk was later recovered during an auction in central New Jersey. The general store - the kind of place that would draw tourists if West Caldwell were still rural and still exists in out-of-the-way places in different parts of America - was demolished years ago.

The current post office, built in 1975, is a typical suburban U.S. post office - it looks like a fertilizer factory and is accessible only by car.

On the desk are newspapers from when Roosevelt was President.

Teddy Roosevelt. :-D

Nyeh. It's a lamp post. One of the several hundred thousand in Amsterdam.

In the mountains, even in June, it gets cold pretty fast once the sun goes down around 8pm. If you want to extend your time outdoors, snuggling in a zero degree duck down sleeping bag is a good solution.

I enjoy both dawn and dusk in terms of observing wildlife and also just witnessing the majestic light transformation from night to day or vice versa.

The plan for the new van is to build an observation/sleeping deck on the roof, accessible by a boat hatch directly above the bed. The view from there should be impressive, especially in the desert.

there were several things i could do with it but i picked that "secret".. more of a rant but it is just so frustrating when they are right there infront of you yet they turn their back to you and talk to someone else

ugh

This is just a fun little build I did on a stormy day. Nothing's better than sitting in front of the TV with a box full of bricks. ;)

Early evening setting in at Waikiki Beach, Honolulu, Hawaii. Wharf in front of the Hilton and Diamond Head in the background.

A length of old bullhead rail has been used as a post. Perhaps it once carried a notice warning people to beware of the trains as there used to be an accommodation crossing here before the bridge was built.
