I LOVE THIS IMAGE but it wasn't ready to present SOOC so I tweaked it just a bit. It took about two minutes but wow - what a difference.
1. Take the red out of the face only using Keri Meyers Take The Red Out.
2. Clean up facial blemishes and smooth skin. Then mask out the eyes, nostrils and lips so they pop.
3. Lighten curves on body and basket only using a mask.
4. Clean up stray twigs, marks on floor.

Yup, one feels the heat!! And true to the name, unavoidable in the front lines to NOT feel the air pressure shock waves!
I love pure neemo bodies! They can be really fun to pose. I love that she is looking up at the sky, but you really have to manipulate them pretty good to make it stay that way. Not easy, but adorable.
By the way, I'm in love with her polka dot shoes! ;0)
No postprocessing, overexposure is absolutely wanted and achieved with the camera. I just tried to do some experiment with flash lights.

Last weekend I played around with some flashes, 2xYN560II and 2xSoligor42DA to be precise as well as with three sets of Lee gel samples. I will upload this week a few series of photos to illustrate what I have done.
All photos are SOOC, so no postprocessing except of the frame, no cropping and no photoshoping. It's just to show what you can achieve if you use the Lee gel samples together with some speedlights.

Today's series of photos shows the same bloom as yesterday. All shots are taken again from top to floor with the bloom standing in a vase.
For all except of the third one I used three flashes. In all pciture two YN560II with green or orange gels pointed to the floor to illuminate the background in color.
I used a handheld Soligor DA 42 from above to through some light to the foreground e.g. the top of the bloom. The color combinations are
1) background green, forgeground blue
2) background green, foreground white
3) background orange, no foreground light
4) background orange, foreground white
I've recently joined a group that shares postprocessing Before and After images.
I'm hoping to learn something :-)
This is my first contribution.
I'm aiming to keep my nature images natural.
So the visual difference here is subtle.
Most noticeable on the eye and the foreground kowhai flower bunch.

Selections and some work with levels and curves.
A little dodge and burn on the eye.

For Whispery White and Bokeh Wednesday a white-ish statue and grave bokeh!

This is Mauretta's cherub. I love its serious face. It reminds me of an Edward Gorey illustration. This could be Mauretta with the Broken Arm ... a caution to cherubs everywhere not to play in graveyards or their arms will break. I like to visit the neighbouring graves of children, when I visit Toby's grave at Fremantle cemetery. It's obvious that these children were cherished, and their graves were probably well tended while their families were alive, but now the families are gone, the graves are rather forlorn. I think they are still very touching and beautiful, and I love the way the spider webs catch the light.
We mostly hear them. If we see them, it's a blur. This one decided to sit still for us. I ran and HDR workflow on this photo to bring out the color and contrast.

Many people asked me how I do this, so I've put up a tutorial on my blog if you're interested in learning how to do this with Lightroom 4.
There is no HDR used here or Photoshop. Everything is done with adjustments in Lightroom.

The High Dynamic Range scene mode captures more contrast than a single exposure can handle by combining multiple exposures into one image.

With a full on afternoon of post processing photos from last night’s event and corporate portrait at photos of the Canberra Raiders cheer squad The Emeralds, I have a break in the weather to run outside and get a quick snap while I export 300 images.
