It’s what people call unprojected – actually plate carrée projection. This is a demo of how easy it is to start seeing patterns, not something research- or publication-quality. Here’s the code, pulling from a local postgres database that isn’t even PostGIS, just raw lat/lon.

Peter is a son of well known postgres developer Bruce Momjian. He used to travel with Bruce to postgres conferences, so I know Peter already about six years. First time I met him in Rome in 2010, when he was just a teenager.

It was really great to meet Will and Peter from Heroku and talk about postgres opportunities on cloud. We start talking in our office and continue in a good georgian restaurant nearby, which was always good to us. Peter and Will will talk about Heroku at the big russian postgres conference in Moscow, pgconf.ru.
