Taking a break from my snowy pics to share my latest hobby.
“Postcards connecting the world - Postcrossing” is “... a project that allows you to send postcards and receive postcards back from random people around the world. That’s real postcards, not electronic!”
I joined to get some cool postcards and stamps (and I have gotten some gems which I’ll post later) but I’m also enjoying the project’s aim to foster good relations across borders. Despite politics (I’ve only gotten one unpleasant message: Greetings from _____, where we don’t have a border wall), I’ve heard from many kind and humorous folks from across the globe.
I also like being able to recycle some of my photos, including this Kodachrome I was able to sell years ago because there were no postcards showing the reflection pools at the “world famous” Gateway Arch at that time. I’ve learned it’s only “world famous” in Finland, home of its architect, Eero Saarinen. :-)
