I've always loved those evocative misty landscapes of the Pictorialists. Like the early work of Peter Henry Emerson (1856-1936), you'll notice there is very little in this photograph that is in sharp focus. That choice is deliberate. Pictorialism was the photographic equivalent of Impressionism in painting. And although out of fashion for many years, there are plenty of photographers exploring its possibilities today.

The Macro Mondays theme for 2/7 is misfits and this is one of five possibilities. The travel scrabble tiles are a half inch square. This one may be my favorite because of the afternoon light. although I do love Monroe the duck who gets a key to the town pond ~grin~

The Macro Mondays theme for tomorrow, 11/7, is biscuits, or - on this side of the pond - cookies. These are one of the six varieties I bought to photograph. Luckily there is someone who will help eat them, to save me from myself… giggling.

….. well, I’ve dithered but decided that I’ll use this one for MM. I liked the blue whales a lot and the bowl cozy too, but this one is sleek and shiny!! Really would have liked to use the blue bee (see the photostream) but I’m betting the admins would have thought it was too processed!

A possibility for the Macro Mondays theme of flexible. There are three possibilities- now to dither, although I’m leaning toward the silver links bracket with the little red heart bead…..

.....this is a portion of a denim pocket pouch that you put inside a locker with a Velcro strip for pencils or other small things. it's my *fav* for the day. will put up a context picture later, if it is needed, but i think the grommet and stitching show that it is within the size parameters.)
