He was singing the Bee Gees:
You don't know what it's like, baby
You don't know what it's like
To love somebody
To love somebody
The way I love you
London, Portobello road
The name of the street refers to Admiral Edward Vernon's capture of a quantity of Spanish silver in 1739 at what was then Puerto Bello, now Portobelo in Panama .
In the mid-19th century, the street was still a simple country lane in a green area of meadows and orchards that connected Portobello Farm to what was then Notting Hill. In the second half of that century, this gradually developed into a connecting road between the current residential areas of Paddington and Notting Hill. Trade and other employment flourished because of the proximity of the homes of the wealthy.
Cat Stevens sang about the street in his song Portobello Road , the back cover of his 1966 single I Love My Dog , the British band Blur sings about this street in the song Blue Jeans (on the album Modern Life Is Rubbish ) and the British band Dire Straits sings about the street in the 1979 song Portobello Belle .
Portobello Road in Notting Hill, London, is home to one of the world's most famous and historic street markets, and a rich diversity and culture that offers a truly unique and special visit every time.
Portobello Market is known for its lively and bustling atmosphere, offering a vibrant and eclectic experience.

It runs almost the length of Notting Hill from south to north, and on Saturdays, it is home to Portobello Road Market, one of London's notable street markets, known for its second-hand clothes and antiques. The market was the setting for the 1999 film Notting Hill, with much of the filming taking place on the street.

Thanks for visiting.....
It’s Life wrapped up in one season
Beginning with pleasant temperatures. and leaves looking their finest
turning stunning shades of radiant colors Enticing one to go out and enjoy.
In the back of our minds knowing all things must end.
Summer’s heat and humidity have waned
And Life is as it should be
Colorful, enjoyable, our windows open to the cool breezes
Shrieks of laughter from the streets.
Children, Normalcy.
In a wink of the eye things seem to be changing
We don a jacket or sweater ... just in case.
Our lights are turned on earlier
The children are called in because “it’s getting dark”
When just a month ago the sun had not yet set.
Is the world getting darker, colder
or is it just imagination?
Those brilliant red and orange leaves are shedding
And the tree is beginning to thin out
Until it is bare, or is it bald?
It’s suddenly looking much older as its aged bark is now in full view.
Out of the blue a strong wind and rains upset our contentment
And we scurry away from the fireplace to the yard to gather up our summer chairs, gardening tools,
And put the bikes away hoping we still have Time to again ride and have fun.
Some of us do,
others don’t.
It’s late Autumn
And that’s the nature of the season
And our lives.
