I wasn't too happy with the 1st one so I had to try again. I think this one turned out a lot better.

This will be the last OOB photo I'll post for now but expect more in the future. Glad you liked this series. Thank you for your wonderful comments.
I'll start putting my watermark on my photos again as per my wife's suggestion. If you noticed, my previous photos don't have watermarks on them, it's because I started embedding a Copyright Notice in the EXIF data lately.
Sorry everyone, I haven't been active on flickr these past few days. Just really busy with alot of things. Terribly sorry as I am really slow catching up. :-)
This is my entry for Lego Ideas "Create a Bricktastic Pop-Up Story" contest.

Amanheceu perfeitinha.
.:: Fim ::.
Gostaram do resultado do sanduíche meninas?

Bjos

Inspired by (I assume) Brian Williams' great 1930s buildings at Brickworld, I wanted to try my hand the style.
The idea was a pop-up book; not one that actually popped up, but more like a building on an open book.
Looking at it now, I'm not sure how much the book really adds to the whole thing, but it took so freaking long to make, it should at least be in the shot.
The aftermath of the posts of the past two days was a valiant struggle on the part of the striped mullet, possibly assisted by a submerged cormorant that surfaced as the Osprey gained control, and finally a successful retrieval of the fish from Horsepen Bayou.

In readiness for a friends exhibition in May, this is a bit of fun. WIP>

Lego Ideas is currently holding a contest to build a pop-up insert for the Lego Ideas Pop-up book. This is what I came up with.
The dragon unfolds from the book using tension from a bunch of Lego strings. I had a lot of problems with it breaking because of how much tension was in the strings, but it's pretty much fixed now.
One of the requirements of the contest was that the book had to be exactly the same as in the set, meaning I couldn't add any new attachment points, so the main body of the Dragon is just attached to the bar on the spine of the book. It disconnects from that pretty easily, but all of the strings keep it in place.
I made a video of me opening the book here: m.youtube.com/watch?v=9kggBcaPnK8
