Amankila was my first ever encounter and inaugural stay with an Amanresort. I have been an urban dweller who loves the hustle bustle and concrete jungle of a metropolis, so it took me quite awhile to finally stay at a secluded resort. I should have come earlier, because both the hotel and the Amankila experience were truly unforgettable. Not even the 3 hours journey to the hotel from the airport deterred me from coming nor having second thought.
Being my inaugural Aman stay, it is only natural that it has a lasting impression. The cliffside ocean view is spectacular; the architecture is breathtaking; the three-tier infinity pool is truly out of this world; the service is impeccable and the charming lady GM is so hospitable and friendly, you would mistaken her for a supermodel who is staying at the resort!. What not to love about Amankila?
What I miss most is the memory left behind. The breakfast on the hill was a great experience. In fact, I kept thinking about it and the Nasi Goreng breakfast at Amanjiwo the whole week already.. And I haven't even mentioned the breathtaking Kilasari Suite yet!. Stunning Balinese architecture with its own infinity pool from the top of the resort. The view is so spectacular.. I still could not forget the special Rijstafel dinner by the Suite's pool amidst the serene lights from the floating candles.. It's like living on a scene of a very beautiful dream..
Both Amankila and Amanjiwo in Indonesia are two of the most popular Amanresorts in the world with Amanjiwo being the founder's personal favourite!. I can easily see why..

Hua Hin (Thai: หัวหิน, IPA: [hǔə hǐn]) is a famous beach resort town in Thailand, in the northern part of the Malay Peninsula, some 200 km south of Bangkok.
Hua Hin's popularity began to increase in the 1920's as the railway line from Bangkok was constructed and King Rama VI built Klai Kangwon Palace as a summer retreat. After the building of southern railway, Hua Hin became the first and most popular beach resort of Thailand.
Where I stayed at the Hilton, the average age was about 68.5 years old. I guess I will be old one day too....

The fully-equipped open kitchen is the heart of Villa Early Sunset. The kitchen provides a view of the 52″ flat screen TV and is also the perfect place for entertaining guests at the bar. The breakfast bar has room for six people. When you entertain, you can socialize with your guests while you are in the kitchen. Next to the kitchen is the breakfast nook that seats five. For more formal entertaining, you can use the large dining table that seats eight.
